-(This post is being written at 1 AM very early Thursday morning; so, it is a recollection of what happened before, yesterday.)-
3:30 PM WENT TO STOCKWELL TO WITHDRAW SOME MONEY/TOO 'LATE'...PLACE SHUT
I wanted to withdraw some money from an account in Clapham; however, when I arrived there somewhere around 4 PM; the place was already shut.
So, I decided to continue riding...
4 PM VISITED TATE BRITAIN GALLERY/DID SOME DRAWINGS USING A MULTI-COLOURED PENCIL
As is my usual wont whenever I visit Tate Britain...I head straight off into the 'drawing room'...where they provide FREE drawing paper/materials to draw with/plus easels...and, this is where the statue: Man Wrestling a Python is kept...; which is what I mostly tend to practice drawing whenever I get there. (Then, gradually, whenever I get bored of doing that one same thing...if there is enough time...I wonder around going off to draw something else, instead.)
I remember executing 4 drawings...using a 'multi-coloured' pencil I'd found...
1> 1 x sketch of a female head...as she stood up drawing the sculpture: Man Wrestling with a Python; I sat down behind her...and, practised drawing her upper half from the back: head/body/purse with long strap hanging down around her back. (I left that drawing on the easel behind/neither dated/or signed)
2> 1 x sketch of the sculptures foot.
3> 1 x full size sketch of the whole sculpture (gave this one away)
4> 1 x sketch of the head of Jesus Christ (imaginary)
An interesting incident happened. An Asian man: Chinese/Korean/...I'm really not sure...saw me drawing the full size sculpture...and, immediately, started capturing it on his mobile phone. I simply just completely ignored him...; and, just kept drawing.
When closing time came...I walked out of the gallery...and, sitting on the steps was the same man...along with some 2 others of his family...both female; and, when he saw me come out...he immediately approached...and, replayed to me his video capture...of me drawing inside of Tate Britain Gallery...drawing the full size sculpture. I just looked, and, laughed. He walked back to go sit down with his family on the gallery steps.
Then, I went and signed the full size drawing with my name; and, also, wrote on the paper Tate Britain, London, UK. I didn't date it...because I'd forgotten all about the date/time? I walked up to the guy, and, gave him the drawing/sketch for free. At first, he refused it...; as did the rest of his family; but, I pretty much insisted they keep it, instead; eventually, they gave in.
As I unchained my bike...to go ride off towards seeing Rodin's Sculpture located at the park near the Houses Of Parliament/Parliament Square; I gave them a wave to say goodbye; and, they waved back at me.
RODIN'S SCULPTURE: THE BURGERS OF CALAIS/DREW A FOOT(NOT VERY WELL?!)
When I arrived at Rodin's Sculpture, I draw just one foot; and, then, left. That is, of course, after staring at the Rodin Sculpture: The Burger's of Calais...constantly walking around it...and, seeing it from all sides; staring at it for, at least, 1/2 an hour long...if not 1 whole hour. Rodin, is such a 'master' of human form/feelings/bodily and facial expressions.
8 PM WENT AND VISITED SEEING CHRISTIE'S IN PICCADILLY
I didn't quite wish to go home, yet...; as being home is so damned boring...always doing the same types of thing...sitting down watching the TV/Internet...or else, watching YouTube videos on the computer.
So, instead, I decided to go and check out seeing...the autistic guy: Stephen Wiltshire's gallery. Of course, the time is 'late'...so, you can't go in...but, still you can look into the glass screen from on the outside. Most unfortunately, I couldn't find it...?!
Instead, I ended up finding Christie's auction house...they, too, were closed; but, they had some printouts of works sold on the outside...along with text explaining what it all is about:
-Elizabeth Taylor jewellery
-Chinese porcelain/gold bars...found on sunken ship.
-Tiepolo painting (private collection)
-etc.
I rode home past Victoria coach station/Pimlico/over into Vauxhall. I even stopped at Van Gogh Walk...to check out the book exchange...but, found nothing worthwhile keeping inside there. Stopped at Herne Hill...gallery; looked in through the window glass...seeing paintings of the close by district/Brockwell park/-etc. Very impressed.
Finally, I arrived back home somewhere around 9:30 PM.
