Thu 8th Aug 2019 Central London Works/Tate Britain/Art Class/Phoned Anne

11 AM CENTRAL LONDON WORKS APPOINTMENT, VAUXHALL

My first appointment for the day, was to go and see Jaye Harewood at Central London Works, Vauxhall. Streatham Job Centre sent me there to go find work. I was late, as usual...by around 15 minutes. Jaye, made a phone call; and, then, offered me a job interview on 23rd August 2019 in Croydon. The work is to do with 'recycling'. Frankly, 'recycling' in not a career path that I'm actually interesting in pursuing...I would prefer doing arts/or, computing/preferably, programming. However, because I have no previous experience in those areas; therefore, I feel forced into accepting any sort of work they can offer me, instead; or, at least, I'm willing to go there for a try out; to see if I do actually find the work acceptable or not?

12:30 PM TATE BRITAIN GALLERY, PILMLICO

I went to visit Tate Britain...which is just across the bridge from Central London Works building.

I visited seeing 2 exhibitions...

1> Frank Bowling (mostly, abstract)
2> Van Gogh (his works/and, those related to other artists he admired)

I'd already gone and seen both of these exhibitions before; but, I thought it might well be worth another visit...before both of these exhibitions end.

In the Van Gogh exhibtion...I tried doing 2 copies of his works: woman sitting in a chair/and, man in a chair. My copies were not really that good...; but, at least, I had a 'try'...which, for me, has got to be far better than having done nothing; normally, I just look and leave...; at least, this time i can honestly say I didn't just look...I also practised.

2:30 PM WENT TO ACKERMAN MEDICAL HEALTH CENTRE, VAUXHALL/LIL SULLIVAN ART CLASS

All the time when I was inside of Tate Gallery, I recalled there was an 'art class' I was due to attend later on in the evening: 2PM - 5 PM. Again, I arrived there 'late', as usual.

It was a bit of a surprise to me...that Lil Sullivan had brought along 2 of her young relatives; a boy aged 8/and, a girl aged 11.

A black girl was there, too...Jenny is her name. She used to go...before I started attending.

And, there was the teacher herself, Lil Sullivan.

So, that made 5 people attended this art class in all...including myself.

I played with the kids for a bit. Praising their artworks. And, also, showed them some Origami (hat/boat)...; too, near the end of the lesson, I showed them how to do a front roll over on the hard concrete ground; (needless to say, they did not try and imitate). I just told them I'm 56 years old...; so, when you get older you will be able to do this, too; so long as you remember to keep fit.

I promised Jenny that I would bring her an A3 sketchpad to draw in, next week, Thursday; and, I also promised Lil Sullivan that I will return back to Rosebery's auction house; and, collect some FREE auction catalogues(as she uses these to cut out and build collages).

8 PM PHONED MY COUSIN, ANNE

My mum asked me to phone to confirm that my cousin, Anne, had received a package she sent. Anne confirmed, yes, she did in fact receive it. We also talked about her brother who is ill in hospital...had suffered a 'mild stroke' recently; but, was recovering; and, also, had lost weight she said; he needed to lose weight so they could attach a prosthetic leg. We talked about a few other things...just chit chat, really...nothing too important; and, basically, the phone call ended there.

11 PM CONCLUSION

The time is now 11:09 PM; and, I haven't bothered going out, again, during this same day...not even to go and buy some 'fish & chips'/or, Iceland ice cream cones. The problem is, I went and lost my debit card...the other day...and, will need to wait until when a 'new' one comes through the post...before I can spend/withdraw any cash.
