I woke up really early at around 6 AM; mainly because I forgot to let the cat in from the back garden; and, I usually feed her 'liquid food' 6 AM/6PM. The rest of the time I leave out 'dry food' to eat, instead.
Sure enough, soon as I opened up the door the cat came running inside from the back garden. I didn't need to call her to come; and, I gave her the 'liquid food'.
Looks like the 'liquid food' is fast running out, though; must be only 2 or 3 pouches left. l need to buy some more really soon. I think, a box of cat food costs £10.00 from Iceland; who open at 8 AM.
6:30 AM WENT DOWN THE ROAD TO GET FREE METRO NEWSPAPER/ALL THE TIME THINKING ABOUT 'DOING SOME DRAWING'...
Because I was now 'awake'/or, at least, 'half-awake'; therefore, I decided to go down the road and pick up a FREE copy of Metro newspaper; mainly for my mum to read; but, also, for me to very quickly glimpse through, sometimes.
As I walked down the road...all the time I'm looking all around me...and, constantly, 'wanting' to draw. But, I didn't bring any sketchbook/paper/or, pen along with me; so, instead, all I did was just look at such things as lines/ shapes/colours/textures/things over-lapping one another/thinking, too, about perspective, and, how that relates to a person's own eye line/-etc.; and, mentally, at least, I try and carefully analyse all of the stuff I see...(I even saw fox looking straight up at me; most probably, wanted me to give it some food to eat); but, I didn't do anything truly 'practical' to realise all of those same thoughts; which can be really frustrating!
I don't know why when I go down the road to pick up a newspaper...why, far more often than not, I don't even bother to take along a sketchbook/pen or pencil with me. However, my guess is it's due to sheer 'fear of failure'...which, quite often, makes me 'give up'...before I've ever even gotten 'started!'
7:30 AM GAMBLED AT WILLIAM HILL: BET £10.00/WON £14.00/LOST: 0.80P BAL
I'm afraid, I let myself get tempted to go betting, again. I bet £10.00; was winning at one point £14.00; then, I went and bet far too high £6.00...and, it lost...thus, cutting my money in half; I still continued gambling...as I just didn't wish to leave while having less than when I went in...however, my bets continued losing...eventually, I was forced to quit from the Roulette table with just 0.80p left. I usually need, at least, £3.00 money left to bet with; so, I didn't bother continuing anymore.

12:00 MIDDAY SPOKE TO IYKE ABOUT 'RECYLING LINE PICKER' JOB: ANSWER: NO
I already knew that my appointment to go to an job induction interview was tomorrow at 7 AM in Croydon. However, the Central London Works case worker guy who sent me there...did inform me to give them a phone call before turning up; so, I decided it would be best to introduce myself to him, right now, long before tomorrow comes.
When I phoned Iyke, the manager, on: 07955 233 484; and, explained to him I have to attend an induction there, tomorrow. His reply was that the person who does the inductions is off, at the moment; so there is no point in coming along tomorrow. He then asked me some further questions...asked me when was my last job? I told him, I haven't worked in quite a while. He also asked what was my last job? So, I told him I was an 'office worker/data entry' clerk working on the computer. He told me...that this recycling job was, in fact, 'dirty' work...; and, that he doesn't think I would be suitable for it. I didn't bother arguing with him on having that opinion...because, frankly, I wasn't interested in the job in the first place; just applied purely due to the duress of if I don't turn up then Streatham Job Centre might cut off my benefit money.
-(The career I wish to pursue lies in office work/and, administration/data entry clerk/-etc.)-
When I had finished speaking to Iyke; I next took the opportunity to phone my case worker to explain that I was refused the induction/job. He, Jaye, said he's currently busy with a client; and, will note it down; we will discuss things further during my next Central London Works appointment.
1 PM PHONED BRIXTON HALFORDS TO INQUIRE IS MY BIKE READY, YET: ANSWER: NO
I phoned Brixton Halfords bike shop to inquire is my bike ready to collect, yet; I spoke to the guy who is meant to fix it called, Angus; but, the answer was, no. He said, he went and ordered the incorrect parts; so has to wait for another set of parts to arrive; he mentioned that he would make it a top priority to fix my bike as soon as possible; but, he said he couldn't put an exact date on it; possibly, sometime during next week.
2:12 PM RECEIVED PHONE CALL FROM LIL SULLIVAN ART TEACHER SAYING I SHOULD COME
I received a phone call from artist, Lil Sullivan, saying I should come to class, right now; even though nobody has turned up there, yet; though she does say she has her two grand children there to keep her company.
2:33 PM PHONED ARTIST, LIL SULLIVAN, AGAIN; TO CHECK IF STUDENT 'JENNY' HAS TURNED UP, YET? ANSWER: YES
I had promised an art student of Lil's called, Jenny that I would bring her some FREE art materials; however, I just wanted to be sure that she has turned up for class...as I don't wish to bring stuff down there...and, then, nobody is even there to receive it...; then, I have to bring all of that stuff back home, again; to me, that's a 'wasted' trip!
So, I phoned, first, to check that Jenny is there? The reply I got back was, yes. So, now, I'm getting ready to go off to my art class. With no bike, I will have to travel by bus; and, back. I already checked the British transport site:
http://www.tfl.gov.uk
...if my Oystercard travellers card has any money still available on it to spend; answer: yes. I think, the Oystercard balance said: £7.10p; which should be enough to pay for the bus ride both there and back, no problem.
4:10 PM I was watching an interesting YouTube video concerning learning Javascript...
...when, suddenly, I realised I'm getting later and later for my art class which begins at 2 PM; and, ends at 5 PM. So with really very little time left to get there...I walked/ran down the road. At age 56+...I can no longer run down the road all -(must be 200 yards, plus)- the way, easily, anymore; and, especially so when I'm not in the habit of practising doing any running; instead, I tend to walk at a tortoise pace as I go along.
Anyway, I wanted a number 2 bus...; however, a 68 bus came, first, instead; so, I decided rather than waste any more time...it's best to take that. When I got to Herne Hill...I had to get off the bus; and, change to take a different bus to Brixton; when I got to Brixton I had to change bus, again...this time I got a number 2.
By the time the number 2 bus had reached Vauxhall...I looked up at the bus digital clock located on the front top deck...and, the time said 5:01 PM; so, I knew now I was far too 'late'; because I still had to do a rather lengthy walk in order to arrive there...and, I figured that the time I arrive at my final destination will be, at least, 5:15 PM; when everybody has already packed up and left.
As they say, 'the best laid plans of mice and men...tends to go awry!'
5:15 PM VISITED TATE BRITAIN GALLERY
Immediately, I decided to switch plans...staying on the number 2 bus...until it crossed over Vauxhall bridge...; then, I walked from there over to Tate Britain Gallery, Millbank, Pimlico.
I didn't get to stay inside of the gallery for too long; as the gallery closes down at 6 PM.
I did however used their FREE art materials to execute 2 drawings...
1 x statue foot
1 x statue head
...both of which drawings I left behind...signed/dated.
7 PM VISITED NATIONAL PORTRAT GALLERY/SHUT
I walked it from Tate Britain Gallery...towards the National Portrait Gallery; because I figured it's Thursday...and, they might have a FREE 'late' night drawing session.
However, when I arrived at NPG...; the gates were totally shut closed!
8:30 PM VISITED ALL SAINTS CLUB HOUSE, 131 CLEVELAND STREET/GAMBLERS ANONYMOUS
I was thinking what to do, next?
I recall stopping inside of Cass Art shop to check out seeing all of their art supplies; but, I couldn't actually afford to 'buy' anything. The guards watched me like crazy; pretty soon, I got totally fed up of it...and, left.
I went to MacDonalds...on Shaftesbury Avenue...Piccadilly Circus end; because I needed desperately to go take a 'leak'. I ordered...
1 x medium fries (which I ate inside)
1 x Coca Cola drink (which I ate outside)
Then, I walked off through Soho square...to go and visit All Saints Club House located on 131 Cleveland Street...which also houses Gamblers Anonymous.
When I arrived at the building...it, too, was shut!
9:30 PM RETURN TRIP HOME
So, I decided...rather than go for a walk around...it's getting darker and darker...and, my mum is expecting me back home, soon..so, it not time for pleasure walking...more a time for acting responsibly, and, playing it safe...so, I made my mind up to return.
From Great Portland Street tube station...I walked it down to Baker Street...quite a long walk. Now, just around the corner of Baker Street...one would normally find the number 2 bus stop situated just outside of MacDonald's. However, when I looked the bus stop was gone...?! This meant I had two choices open to me...either get another bus taking me to the end of the street/and, then, change. Or, walk down...; I felt tired/completely frustrated/and, did NOT wish to walk down. So, I jumped on any bus...forgot which number it was...stating it's going to Putney. Much to my surprise the bus took me all the way down Bond Street...past Green Park...Knightsbridge corner...towards Sloane Street; but, then, half way along Sloane Street...the bus veered off from the turning I actually wanted to go down. So, I had to alight off the bus...and, walk towards Sloane Square...to take the right bus...at the right turning. I had to wait pretty long to get a number 137 going to Streatham Hill(other buses arrived; just not mine); eventually I got one. At Streatham bus garage, (I got off the bus far too early...I recall asking the bus driver is this the last stop? He didn't even bother to answer me...so, I got off)...and, then, no 417 bus arrived...so, I took another bus going towards Streatham Hill train station; from there I crossed over into Leigham Court Road. At Leigham Court Road...again, I got fed up of waiting for the 417 to come...so, decided to walk up the hill...when I had reached the church...that's when the bus arrived...around 1 or 2 stops from my home bus stop at St Julian's Farm Road. Again, I got off the bus; and walked down the hill to reach back home. When I finally arrived inside of my home the time said: 11 PM +. I wrote my mum the message...that the bike needed fixing...so, I had to take bus home...and, thank God, she didn't complain(normally, she curses at me for coming in ever so late).
Now, that was a really strange evening...; as good as it was bad. At least, I went out...got some exercise doing some lengthy walking -the walking proved I was badly 'out of shape'!-; and, I even used buses, once more...when I would, usually, bike. It was fascinating being up close amongst stranger passenger people.
Only I have to say, I would much prefer taking bike...it's quicker...for doing short journies lasting between 1/2 an hour/up to 1 hour...because there is no constant 'waiting' around...instead, with every turn of the pedal...you just simply go there...and, can reach straight up to the final door....so, there is no need for doing any further walking like when you get off the bus.
(Of course, I'm going to have to explain to both Lil/Jenny why I had missed the class; possibly, when next week Thursday comes along.)
