Tue 22nd July 2014/Went 3 x different MA classes

Mon 21st July 2014/Went Krav Maga, Brixton, St Matthew's church

The teachers said the venue will be changing to Crystal Palace, instead; until 1st September when classes at St Matthew's church will resume, again.

(Fri 25th July 2014/I went to Crystal Palace to discover where the new Krav training place is. It was easy to find. Only I aready missed the 'beginners' class, yesterday: 6:45PM-8:45PM.)

-----

Tue 22nd July 2014/Went 3 x different MA classes

10AM-12:00 Camberwell Green kick boxing at Ferndale Leisure Center/(£7.00 class fee + £3.00 to get in. £20 for monthly membership; then, getting in is FREE; but, the class will still have to be paid for. Teacher: Julian.)

6:30PM-8:30PM Chinese Community Center, Leicester Square, TKD (2 FREE classes/this is class no 1/a black guy is the teacher; forgot his name?)

9PM-11PM Chinese Community Center, Leicester Square, Bai Ji Quan (Teacher Xin, Chinese guy)

SUMMARY OF EACH CLASS

Frankly, after the kick boxing in the morning; my legs were feeling pretty sore; after taking kicks against the pad on my thigh; my thigh ended up being pretty deeply bruised.

The TKD I wanted to check out; because I thought it looked pretty. I still do think that. Plus, it's good for teaching one how to kick.

The Bai Ji Quan, is a hard Shaolin form of style; but, extremely effective especially up close.

CONCLUSION

After already taking 2 classes, today; I wasn't sure I'd still have enough energy left to go take the 3rd; but, somehow, I seem to have managed it. I think, the real reason why though is because the TKD teacher went real easy on me; not making the lesson too difficult; thus, I still had strength available to do BJQ.

I really don't know how long I will continue with doing these lessons; far more likely than not something will have to stop; as I'm totally flat broke. So, I might end up chosing to go only to one class, alone; as opposed to all.

KRAV MAGA SPARRING SESSION IN SUNHIL'S PRIVATE HOME

9AM I had an appointment with Sunhil(29 Apache[?] Road, Brixton), a Nepalese guy, who I met in Krag Maga class at St Matthew's church in Brixton, to go and do some sparring. I was meant to arrive at 9AM; but, I was late by 1 hour; so, eventually, I arrived at 9:30AM instead; he did not complain. We both went into the garden, and, did some boxing; followed by some Krav Maga self-defence; and, also, some knive disarm work. We both wore shin guards/groin guards; and, the hitting was light as opposed to hard. It was interesting sparring with him; as although he is shorter than me; he is also quicker; and, really quite strong. I'm not exactly sure; but, he is at least my equal as a boxer; and, is a far better kicker. Being we are both beginners; therefore, I can't honestly say I learned an awful lot from him...though he did show me a few of his own techniques; but, out main aim is to practice stuff so that we don't forget; and, also, to sharpen our awareness/reflexes/timing/conditioning/-etc.

He said he had to meet up with a friend who came calling at the door, Michael; with whom he goes to Brockwell park to play tennis. So, when Michael came; he wasn't too interested in learning or studying martial arts; so, we both stopped; and, I left for home; leaving both of them to go and play tennis together.

Sunhil said he would call me again, next week. I left him a business card with my name/address/phone number(home/mobile).

PRINT MAKING AT DULWICH PICTURE GALLERY

2PM-4PM Curtesy of Paxton Green Time Bank, I went to Dulwich Picture Gallery to do some 'print making' practice. We drew flowers, first, by using a pencil; then, after we drew over the pencil marks onto a paint slab; which thus produced a coloured in print on the other side of the paper we were drawing on. Finally, we were given frames to store our drawing in. Personally speaking, I was happy with the result.

4PM-5PM Afterwards, we were given a FREE gallery pass to go and see 'prints' made by Ben Nicholson, and, his wife; as well as, others in his group. The prints were interesting; but, honestly, most were not that great; with the exception of a few. Anyway, I enjoyed looking the exhibition; which otherwise I would have missed completely.

CHINESE MARTIAL ARTS COMMUNITY CENTRE, LEICESTER SQUARE: BAJIQUAN

8PM-11:30 PM Two weeks ago I went to look at the martial arts they practice in Leicester Square, Chinese Community Centre. They have 2 there: TKD(6:30PM-8PM/£???)/and, BAJIQUAN(9PM-11PM/£5.00).

Then, last week I actually took a Bajiquan lesson.

This week I decided to go back to learn some more; and, especially, to refresh my memory so that I don't forget?!

I like the lesson; but, I can't honestly say that I understand it...being just a total complete beginner; I know that my moves are all wrong...! However, I figure that with sufficient practice I might be able to get it in the end...?

TKD: FREE CLASS NEXT WEEK: JUST REMEMBER TO TURN UP 6:30PM

I also inquired about TKD; and, was told I would need a uniform to practice; but, the chinese lady said she wasn't too sure about the price; I must go and consult their web site, instead. TKD: 0751 7437 300.

RODE MY BIKE THE LONG WAY AROUND THEN HOME

12:00 Midnight-2AM. I rode home the long way around: Leicester Square, Picadilly, Waterloo, Westminister, Lambeth Bridge, Vauxhall, Stockwell, Clapham Common, Clapham South, Balham, Tooting, Tooting Bec, Tooting Broadway, Streatham, Streatham Common, Crown Point, Norwood Park, Earnest Ave, -etc. Eventually, I arrived home somewhere around 2AM.

In fact, I still feel rather energetic, and, want to go back outside, again; but, then, I think, it might well be far better if I were to let myself get some sleep.

I need to do some running around the park; which I haven't been practicing for a few days now; due to Achilles Tendonitis injury playing up.

Tuesday 1 July 2014

010714 Went Kung Fu in Leicester Square

9PM-11PM Tuesday July 2014 I went to the Chinese Community Center in Leicester Square to go and practice doing some Kung Fu.

Last Tuesday I went there to watch. This Tuesday I actually went there to participate in taking an actual lesson for £5.00.

I was told to come along on Saturday at 2PM to do a FREE session if I wish; and, also, to check them out during the weekend.

When I first went in, they were still practicing Taekwon Do. I saw 2 oriental girls practicing together; with the same Kung Fu teacher conducting the lesson.

Then, after TKD had finished; it was my turn to go and learn.

I have to admit that learning anything 'new' can be pretty damn difficult; and, so, I find myself making mistakes all over the place!

1, The first difficulty is trying to remember all of the moves?
2. The second difficulty is trying to get those moves to work correctly.
3. The third difficulty is it's one thing to practice moves alone, and, in air; but, not so easy to do it in real life against a willing, and, highly cooperative partner.
4> The last difficulty is to get the moves working against a partner who is totally uncooperative, instead.

Right now, I'm still going through the remembering stage, quite frankly.

Anyway, I hope to take many more of these Kung Fu classes, in future. The atmosphere was one I liked; where the focus is intense; and, of course, they do strike you; but, not with dead serious intent; so you still come out of the lesson feeling perfectly ok. I thought I would get hurt; but, no, not at all. Far from it, I actually enjoyed the rough and tumble. I also very deeply appreciated being allowed to practice doing breakfalls with any mats.

Cat suffered broken leg/other internal injuries. Taken to vet...awaiting updates

Friday 23rd May 2014 12:00 midnight

At the approach of the weekend. I let the cat out through the front door at around midnight before going off to sleep.

In the daytime I only ever let my cat out into the back garden; as I feel there is far too much constant road traffic both coming and going along for it to be truly safe for the cat to go out and play in the front street. However, when it's late at night...close to midnight/or, just after midnight 1AM/2AM/3AM; I allow her out into the street as there are very few cars around, then; nearly everyone has gone to bed; therefore, I feel it's much less likely that she will get run over. Of course, there are many other cats out there in the front streets; that my cat likes to go and meet. After sleeping, as soon as I wake up, I go and open the door to collect her back in again sometime around very early morning; usually before 6AM; when people wake up to take their cars to go off to work.

At around 5 AM in the morning, I went and opened up the front door, as usual; clapping together both my hands very loudly -which is my usual sign for calling the cat to come back in-, only the cat didn't come...? I then went around to the back door, and, once more, tried clapping both my hands; again, there was no response...?

Next, I thought to myself she might be inside of the home somewhere, instead. Possibly, crept in without my even noticing it/or else, my mum, who usually wakes up before me, might have let here in. So, I tried opening up all doors inside of the house, and, at the same time clapped my hands together loudly; again, no response. My cat wears a collar with a phone number, and, bell around her neck; so, whenever she moves I can hear the bell. I heard nothing.

I started thinking to myself, what on earth could have happened? Of course, when one lets ones imagination run...it can come up with absolutely no end of 'negative' scenarios. I thought, somebody could have stolen it; some spiteful kids could have stoned it to death for fun; it could have fallen from a great height such as out of a tree when attempting to chase after birds/-etc.

Sat 24th May 2014 11:30 AM

Still thinking about the cat, constantly; where on earth could she be...??? I searched the back garden; looked over garden hedges. I tried going down the alleyway to see if she could be there; the results of which were still no cat.

I decided to go off to a martial arts lesson in Brixton at St Matthew's church. I arrived late; I should have gotten there at 11AM; instead, I left home at 11:30AM. So, the lesson was short; and, pretty soon I returned back home on my bike.

When I came back home; I saw my mum was going around knocking on nextdoor neighbour doors to ask if anyone had seen the cat; she also put up a number of written messages, 3, stating that the cat had gone missing; sticking these messages onto lamp posts using sticky tape.

All the way from Friday up to Saturday late evening, I'd gone and left the back garden door open; in the hope that possibly the cat will come back, and, so be able to let herself in. But, very late Saturday evening, I went and closed the garden gate; as I felt it was far too much of a security threat; or, possible enticement to burglars.

Sunday 25th May 2014 Very early morning 1PM

By early Sunday morning, I'd already decided deep inside of my mind; we would, most likely, never get to see the cat ever again. Whoever had stolen her would be long gone by now; especially so if they'd stolen her in their car. Outside of our house there is a nearby alleyway; and, another next door neighbor cat had gone missing; to be never ever seen again.

At the same time, I kept on hearing a faint 'bell noise'...not constant...but, only just occasional. Naturally, I would 'rejoice'; go running off straight downstairs to open up both the front door/back garden door...only to find still no cat?! Thus, I thought to myself the faint 'jingle bell noise' I keep hearing every now and then...must be due purely to my own imagination, and, is merely the result of wishful thinking.

Finally, I decided why not have a go at looking underneath the bed to see if I could find the cat there; and, sure enough, that's exactly where I found the cat; lying all curled up on the floor underneath the left side of the bed; but, then, I noticed she would not come out from under the bed. But, I wasn't exactly sure what was wrong there...as to why not? Possibly, she was playing games...; as there was no moaning or groaning.

I then went downstairs, and, got a double tray...filling one side with water; and, then, left the tray beside her so that she could, at least, drink.

Sunday 25th May 2014...later on, during the same morning...8AM

-(A large part of me feels guilt/shame that I didn't detect the cats injuries far sooner; immediately, when I went and discovered her underneath the bed far earlier in the morning; I should have said to myself why isn't she coming out? Exactly, what's wrong? Then, I would have taken her off to see the vet far sooner. However, I just thought to myself she must be having a stomach upset; so that's why she isn't eating/drinking. Thus, I went straight back to sleep, again. After all, the cat wasn't making any noise; she wasn't moaning or groaning. She was moving her neck/head -but, not body- and, seemed to be looking at me, quite calmly, straight in the face with both eyes.)-

When I awoke at 8AM; I looked at the water inside of the tray; and, realized the cat doesn't seem to have drunk absolutely anything...!

Next, I decided to move the bed, in order to discover seeing exactly what's wrong? That was when I discovered that the cat seems to have suffered a badly broken hind leg. As, normally, she would stand/walk/run/jump; but, now, she was just simply dragging that back leg along...whilst the other 3 legs seemed to be working fine; too, she was keeping all of her movements absolutely 'minimal'; mostly, lying down flat 'still' whilst being on her side.

That's when I decided it's time to call the vet/pet rescue people. First, I phoned directory enquiries on: 118 118. After I'd gone and explained the situation to them; they gave me the number of a 24 hours vet. When I spoke with them...they said it would cost £140.00 just to see the cat; and, any surgery/-etc. would be really expensive. When I stated that I was 'unemployed'; they suggested I call the FREE animal charity, RSPCA-Royal Society for the Protection and Care of Animals control centre. I then re-explained both my cat's situation; and, the fact that I'm 'unemployed'; the RSPCA suggested that I call a 24 hours per day animal charity called: Blue Cross located at: 1-5 Hugh Street, Victoria, London. An appointment was made to bring my cat in as soon as possible.

I had to call a taxi to take me there; I was very highly surprised when the taxi firm said the fee would be £20.00(because all the money I had a available was just 1 x £20.00 note). But, then, when I called another taxi firm...they said the fee would be £25! I then quickly rode my bike down the street to see my local cab firm; they told me the charge would be £22. I rode back home, and, decided to call back the first taxi firm; and, just accept the £20 charge, instead.

-(I had a few other travel choices...carrying her on my bike was out of the question; as the ride would be far too bumpy. I could also have chosen to take her on the bus; but, then, as I didn't know exactly where it was I was going to...then, that would have involved walking when I got off the bus...until I had gone and found the place. In the end, I thought it quickest and simplest to just take a taxi; even though their costs are exorbitantly over-expensive...especially, when compared to bus; the bus journey would have cost me nothing as I already had a bus pass.)-

I put my cat into a cat carrier with blanket sheets; and, then, placed the cat inside of the taxi. The driver was an African guy from Ghana; we chatted about many things including the cat/unemployment/-etc. Eventually, we arrived at the place; and, I rang the Blue Cross door bell; but, there was no reply. After repeatedly ringing the same bell, again and again; a lady did answer me by opening the door; explaining she was on a phone call...and, thus, wasn't able to come to the door right away.

The Blue Cross receptionist asked me to show id in the form of unemployment letter stating which particular benefits I was on; as well as, a photo ID...for which I used my bus travel pass. She explained that each time I come along to the center; I must bring in recently dated proof of my remaining being on unemployment benefit.

Next, I was taken to see a lady vet, who went and checked out the cat; this lady stated that there were problems with the cats insides(in particular, she could feel no bladder there...?); as well as, a broken back leg. Furthermore, I must sign a form consenting that she can do whatever surgery that is deemed necessary; to which I agreed. She stated that she would need to take some exploratory X-Rays in order to see/discover exactly what's wrong; then, she would phone me back at around 2PM. I thanked her and left.

I used my bus pass to take a no 2 bus from Victoria bus/train/tube station...all the way back home.

At around 12:30 PM the lady vet called to explain that surgery needed to be done on both the cat's insides; and, also, on her broken leg; to which I agreed. She, then, stated that she would call me back, again, once surgery had been finished.

-(I phoned my cousin -who lives in the country- to explain what had happened to the cat; because the previous day I already told her the cat had gone missing. I updated her with the news that eventually we went and found it under the bed; it's leg appeared to be broken as she was dragging it along; finally, we found an animal charity who was willing to treat her for FREE; and, I would keep her updated with any further news.)-

Right now, I'm still at home waiting to see what the 'after surgery' news will be...???

Sunday 25th May 4PM LATEST UPDATE

I got a further phone call from the vetinary surgeon listing the cats injuries...

-crushed by some really heavy weight; quite possibly, a car
-internal body wall cavity having completely come away; which holds in all of the internal organs
-removed spleen (too badly damaged to remain)
-lacerated liver
-broken pelvis
-etc.

...the surgeon said the cost of the operation was extremely expensive; because it was one of the worst set of injuries that she had ever yet seen. I asked her if the cat would need to be put down? She said that animals tend to recover a lot more quickly than do human beings. Next, I asked her just how soon would it be that the cat would be returned home to me? She said, she really isn't sure...as they need to keep it with them for further careful observation. She also mentioned that it would be possible to make a donation to the Blue Cross animal charity: 0300 777 1890.

Finally, she said I should call back tomorrow at 11 AM in order to be further updated. After which, I thanked her; and, left it at that.

Tue 4th June 2014

I took my cat back to the Blue Cross animal hospital in Victoria for a check up. The nurse there said she found a large lump underneath the cat. So it was decided to keep her in for further x-rays, and, observation.

She also asked me if the cat was both emptying her bowels; as well as, urinating. My answer was I saw her droppings; but, I didn't actually see her urinate.

Wed 5th June 2014

I went to collect my cat from the hospital. I was informed that the cat's underneath lumps have been drained; and, that if she gets sufficient cage rest, then, hopefully, the swellings will go down more.

So my cat was once again released back to me; on the condition that she stays inside of her cage; no running/jumping/climbing.

She is meant to stay inside of the cage for 1 whole month. But, I must confess that it's extremely hard to keep her confined to a 5 foot wide/4 foot high wire cage; as she just wants to move around. Sometimes, out of pity, I let her walk around; or else, take her out into the backgarden to get some fresh air. Only taking her outside does worry me...as, sometimes, she just vanishes...?! Which then causes me to 'panic' that she's run off. However, sooner or later, I find her, again. Thus, whenever I let her out into the garden; I have to make sure that she is constantly being supervised; I can't just leave her out there alone; not even if it appears that she is asleep.

Tue 1st Jul 2014 LATEST UPDATE

I'm very happy to report that my cat has been officially declared as being fully fit, again.

I went back to the Animal hospital charity today; and, the vet assured me that everything is fine.

They also advised me to continue with giving the cat flea treatment every month. The cost of which is £5.00 per month. All one has to do is pour some liquid on the cat's neck/back...making sure to part the hair, first; and, basically, that's it.

Oh they also told me to book another check up appointment in 6 months time.

I also have to return back to them their wire mesh cage.

Friday 18 April 2014

170414 Roseberys super large painting sold for £100/received £49.xx!

8:30 AM I awoke, first, thing I did was get my mum a FREE Metro newspaper from down at West Norwood train station.

10 AM - VISITED TIME BANK, COLLECTED BOOKS/JOINED WALK TO NORWOOD PARK

I phoned up PGTB/Paxton Green Time Bank -(local voluntary group); and, requested that I was coming to pick up some art books I borrowed them on Monday. Nicole, the receptionist, agreed that I could come along and pick everything up; which I did. Collected 2 x Origami books + 2 books on The Impressionists. -(Actually, I forgot to collect The Great Masters book; will have to get it, next time.)-

10:30 AM - Later on during the morning, I decided to go join a TimeBank Walk to West Norwood train station. We were accompanied by 2 guides: a man/woman; and, the rest of the group consisted of adults: mostly, women and children. We visited Norwood Park open air gym; then, we came straight back to Kingswood House Library from where we started; though, we didn't actually go in as they were having a Draw Day Event. Instead, we stopped off at Ketra Halls, which is located just around the corner. In there I took the opportunity to show the kids some Origami; and, also, the female guide wanted to learn...so I showed her: paper hat/bookmark/box(and, some other shapes from the paper hat base).

2 PM - WENT TO TOOTING IXION WORK TRAINING TO DO JOB SEARCH

I cycled over to Tooting, Ixion, -(Part of Trident Business Centre)- Bickersteth Road, going down Church Lane.

When I got there I signed in; and, told the supervisor, Kevin, that I have to sign on at Streatham Job Centre at 2:45. He said I don't need to do any job search; just go and sign on, instead.

I went off to Streatham Job Centre, and, signed on. Next, I returned back to Ixion in Tooting to complete a form where I filled in having done 2 job searches. The supervisor, Kevin, said I didn't have to return; but, I just answered that I wanted to; as I wanted to show proof that I'd done some job search/as opposed to none.

4 PM SOLD SUPER LARGE PAINTING AT ROSEBERY'S AUCTION HOUSE

Yesterday, Thursday 17th April 2014, I received a letter from Rosebery's auction house, informing me that a super large painting had sold for £100.00. Though, after all of the charges were taken out, they sent me a final check for just £49.xx; which I immediately went and deposited inside of my bank a/c.

5 PM RETURNED BACK TO KINGSWOOD HOUSE LIBARY FOR 'DRAW DAY'

Later on, during the evening, I decided to make one more trip out; and, that was to go and see 'Draw Day' at Kingswood House Library.

When I got there I realized it was mostly a kids event; as opposed to being for adults; thus, I walked around for a bit; and, then, very quickly left.

Oh yes, I remember seeing Julie from Art4Space. She was there with her children doing some drawing. She told me Art4Space would be opening, again; and, she would send me an email; their location remains the same off Jeffery's Road, McCall Close in Stockwell.

WAS THINKING ABOUT VISITING THE CINEMA - BUT, CHANGED MY MIND

I was thinking about going off to visit the Cinema; as I am paying a regular subscription fee...but, haven't been going there at at all; which amounts to being a waste of money! Especially, as I now have Amazon Prime membership which allows me to watch videos at home...including martial arts/-etc. However, when I'm either feeling too tired; am otherwise distracted; or, the time is far too late; then, I don't tend to go.

Wednesday 9 April 2014

Mon 7th April 2014 Weird day...got even weirder still...

Mon 7th April 2014 was a very weird day for me.

1AM-4AM JOINED PENNY AUCTION SITE: MADBID.COM/LOST  A LOT OF MONEY THERE...AROUND £100.00!

In the very early hours of the morning, I went and joined a 'penny auction' web site called:
http://www.madbid.com
...where I went and used my Vanquis credit card to spend a whole lot of money I shouldn't have. I brought, at least, £75.00 worth of credit vouchers; thinking I'm going to win something at MadBid really cheaply.

Hours, later on, I all of a sudden realized that winning anything at MadBid isn't easy; in fact, it's really REALLY hard. Rather like 'gambling' you just don't know who the hell is going to win or not.../nor, when you will win/lose...?! In other words, what I'm actually saying is...you could buy yourself £1000.00/or, £10,000 pounds worth of vouchers...and, still NOT win absolutely anything.

Only when I did finally manage to 'wake up' to having this sudden realisation...I had already spent close to £100.00 at MadBid; and, NOT won anything apart from a couple of spending vouchers...!

In the end, I quit.

So, this was a really BAD way to start off the day.

HAD TO PAY 2 X LOTS OF COUNCIL TAX BILLS TOTALING: £117.00

8AM I received a Council Tax bill through the post stating that I owe them: £96.00(last years bill unpaid) + £21.00(bill related to this current year).

UPDATE: The next day, Tuesday, I got £120.00 benefit money; which I used to pay both of these Council tax bills off.

  96.00
+21.00
 ------
  117.00

...that leaves me with just £3.00 to live on for the next fortnight! Is it any wonder, then, that I tend to feel forced to live on 'credit'.

WENT TO KINGSWOOD HOUSE/PGTB OFFICE, AND, QUITE SUDDENLY, RESIGNED...!

1PM-3PM I knew I had an art lesson to attend at PGTB/Paxton Green Time Bank inside of Kingswood Library. When I went there...nobody was around.

Because, I had a difficult lesson there, last week; where hardly anybody had turned up...just 3 people, of which one was myself; thus, I felt it was a personal rejection against me.

Nicole from the office upstairs came down to tell me that teacher Jenny had cancelled the lesson; and, if I had checked Facebook for messages; then, I would have seen the lesson is cancelled. Of course, I didn't bother signing in to Facebook; therefore, I didn't know the lesson had been cancelled, yet. So, I went off home.

I made 2 more trips back to go visit the PGTB that day. Each time, first, I went upstairs and into the office; I took away my folder of artworks: drawings/printouts/postcards/origami; and, I also handed in my DWP/Dulwich Picture Gallery card...which is a FREE yearly pass.

On my second trip there, I took away my Terrence Kelly small square seascape painting. I told them to keep the Key Hayes watercolour/and, also, the 'old master' drawing I had donated to be used in a future raffle.

Then, without bothering to get into any further argument, I left.

Later, I phoned in, again; stating...I was not quitting from the Timebank; but, just quitting from being in the Art group; as there were certain people there who I don't seem to be able to get along with.

UPDATE: The next day, Tuesday, I wrote in using Facebook 'private' messages to PGTB...explaining why I had chosen to quit; because I wasn't getting along in the Art class with certain people -didn't say exactly who/but, did explain it's NOT the teacher herself who I like-; and, that I just wanted to take some space out; after which I'd return.

MISSED 3 X CONFLICTING TIME APPOINTMENTS DURING THE EVENING

All during the day, from the minute I woke up very early morning, I knew I had 3 x conflicting appointments to go deal with.

1> 7:30-8:30 PM Krav Maga, martial arts/self-defence...£35.00 monthly regular subscription fee.
2> 6:30-9PM MeetUp group, Introduction to Python Programming Part I (I'd also signed up for Part II next week monday)
3> 8PM My mum said, a man was due to call to fix the toilet flush which wasn't working properly. So, she begged me to wait until he came.

Eventually, I decided to wait until 7PM...no man had called, yet.

-(NOTE: I'd already signed in to MeetUp.com earlier in the day...and, told the event organizer, Gin, that I had conflicting appoinments; if she would tell me if I could study the course online, without having to travel. The reply I got back was; yes, you can study online; but, then, I should also remember to FREE up the event space for somebody else if I was sure I wasn't coming. Ultimately, I decided NOT to cancel; as rather than study alone; I wanted somebody there to help me when I needed to ask further questions whenever I got stuck.)-

DECIDED TO GO TO THE MEET UP EVENT: INTRODUCTION TO PYTHON PROGRAMMING/UNFORTUNATELY, ARRIVED FAR TOO LATE!

Then, rather impatiently, I left...decided to ignore 'martial arts' class...as it will still be available Wed/Sat; but, Python programming is a 'one off' event.

Somewhere around 7:30 PM; as I was riding my bike going through Brixton on to Kennington...suddenly, I realised I have no backpack with me...which, in turn, must mean I forgot to bring along my laptop computer; but, without a computer I won't be able to do any programming?! So, I had no other choice but to turn back, riding 3 miles all the way back home, again...in order to retrieve my laptop; thinking to myself I'm going to be even more late now!

8PM I arrived back home...my mum was still waiting for the workman to arrive; but, he had not. So, she told me to follow her around the corner to the man's house...so she could show me where he lived.

My mum wanted me to knock on the door/or, ring the bell; but, I refused; as I figured if the people there were interested in coming to fix the toilet; then, they already would have; the fact that they didn't...meant they just weren't interested.

UPDATE: It, later on, emerged that the workman does NOT live there; instead, somebody else does; who did not appreciate being disturbed.

8:15 PM I rode off to attend my MeetUp event. I was wearing a suit; and wolly jumper; and, I recall it started 'raining'!

After riding all the way across London to the side of St Paul's Cathedral. I realized I have no map; and, can't even recall the correct turning that I should take...; so, I was lost...?! I spent, at least, 1/2 an hour long trying to figure out which was the correct turning to take...asking people questions(a indian man inside of his news shop/a Big Issue street seller/three or four taxi people)/riding my bike both this way and that; eventually, I found it...2 or 3 streets away from Old Street; Skills Matter/116-120 Goswell Road.

Only when I did finally enter the building; the people were already coming downstairs, and, pouring out; in other words I had arrived far too 'late'! I even saw the host: Gin, an Oriental lady...I saw her giving me a strange 'bad' look...which I decided to pretend to completely  ignore. I went over to the event book, and, 'signed in' anyway; adding both my name/email. I also went upstairs to see who was left; but, a guy told me that the event was now over; and, everyone was leaving to go home. So, I came back downstairs, and, headed off...

9:30 PM WENT SHAFTESBURY AVENUE/TROCODERO COMPLEX/CINEWORLD...AGAIN ARRIVED TOO LATE!

I wasn't sure to where to to next...I figured there were just 2 choices left open to me...either head straight off home/or else, go visit the cinema...as I pay a regular monthly fee to Cineworld; and, hadn't watched any movies in while...which meant 'wasted' membership fees.

Therefore, after stopping at MacDonalds for a bite to eat...-(where I met and spoke to a Jamaican born guy called, Don, from St. Mary)-...I headed off on my bike towards Shaftesbury Avenue Cineworld. Unfortunately, when I arrived, and, went upstairs the usher said they were taking no more entries.

I went out of Cineworld; and, wondered around the Piccadilly area for a bit. l walked into Starbucks to ask them if there was any money left on my card; they said, no!

11PM TRAFALGAR SQUARE MCDONALD'S RESTAURANT/4 X POLICEMEN ACROSS THE ROAD VIEWING ME SUSPICIOUSLY

On my way back home; I stopped off at another McDonald's restaurant to have a drink of tea.

When I looked across the street I saw 4 x white police men looking at me rather suspiciously; I guess, because my skin was 'brown'; and, futhermore, I was wearing a 'backpack'; maybe, they thought I was going to 'blow up London'! Needless to say, their 'suspicious' look did not do anything to help my bad mood improve.

In the end, though, I decided to completely ignore them, and, just go home; after all, getting into an argument/fight with 4 x policemen was NOT a good idea; I could easily end up either 'hurt'/or else, in prison for behaving wrong.

12:30 PM STREATHAM/SAW STREET WALKER

I found myself going along Streatham Hill; where I saw a street-walking whore who I simply ignored.

Eventually, when I got back home the time must have been somewhere around 1PM.

I went off to sleep thinking to myself...a strange day is capable of getting even stranger...as if there is not depth to 'strangeness'...???!!!

Monday 24 March 2014

Mon 24th March 2014 7:30PM-8:30PM Joined Krav Maga/Brixton

http://www.southlondonkravmaga.com

Beginner's class:-

Mon/Wed: 7:30-9PM
Sat: 1PM-2:30PM

Today, I went and re-joined Krav Maga self-defence; before they used to hold classes around midday inside of West Norwood tennis club; they moved premises, however; now, they hold classes at St Matthew's church in Brixton during the evenings.

The cost to re-join was really expensive; in all a total of £100.00; £65.00 for yearly insurance/and, a further £35.00 per month payment for classes. Beginner classes can be attended: Mon/Wed/Sat.

Frankly, I really don't know for how much longer I will be able to afford paying £35.00 monthly; with all of my other bills still remaining totally 'unpaid'...?! However, I felt really pretty desperate to get back into doing some sort of keep fit/martial arts training. The last time I trained with them was 2 years back, during 2012; back then I was still a beginner; and, now, 2014, I remain a beginner!

For some weird reason, I never got any further with doing martial arts, than just to remain a complete beginner all throughout my entire life. Either I lose interest; and, something else takes over both my attention/time; or else, I might run out of money; at other times, I find I can't get along with certain members/-etc. But, frankly, I never ever managed to make it anywhere past 'white belt' status.

140314 9AM-3PM Went Lambeth College: Clapham Centre: Introductory Science

WENT TO INTRODUCTORY SCIENCE AT LAMBETH COLLEGE: CLAPHAM CENTRE

Yesterday, Friday, 9AM-3PM, I went to Lambeth College: Clapham Center  to go and study Introductory Science.

So far we are into the 3rd week, I think, of an 11 weeks 'short course'. Unfortunately, I've already missed not going to 2 weeks. So I'm way behind. Furthermore, because this is a 'short course'; therefore, everything has to be crammed in; thus, if you miss weeks out; then, I'm afraid, you are left more and more further behind.

I really don't know if I will be able to catch up or not. But, at least, I'm trying. Though, I admit another part of me is thinking I might have to drop out.

Altogether, there are 3 lessons per day. So far I've missed all of the morning lessons. I only took part in the evening lessons, instead.

BROUGHT SOME LIBRARY BOOKS

I entered the college library where I discovered they had books on sale going for just 0.20p each; which is a total bargain. The only trouble was having to carry all of the books home...I brought £3.00's worth. Luckily, I had a big bag in my backpack; which I used to store the books in. Then, coming back home, I simply looped the bag handle onto one of my bike's handlebars.

The next problem is, however, will I actually find enough time to read through all of those books...???!!!

110314 Did Portrait Drawing at Dulwich Picture Gallery

2PM - 4PM Went Dulwich Picture Gallery, -(Courtesy of Paxton Green Time Bank)-, to go and do a FREE course in Portrait Drawing practice, which was being held inside of the Linbury Room.

The attractive young lady we drew was called, Lisa. She was slim blonde; and, wore a floral dress; with black leg stockings, and, black shoes.

We were all given a huge sheet of thick watercolour paper to start off with...; together with drawing pencil stick/graphite stick/and, kneaded eraser.

At first, we practiced doing some 'blind contour' drawing; which is a drawing exercise where you don't look down at the paper; but, instead, concentrate only on looking solely at the model, alone; whilst at the same time drawing lines 'quite blindly' onto paper representing the surface of what you see. This exercise helps you to study the model in 'full detail' with your eyes/mind...as well as, teaches you to develop both careful hand/eye co-ordination. The teacher said, not to rush; but, instead, to draw very patiently, and, slow; and, above all, remember NOT to look down at the paper. -(Needless to say, trying to resist the ever constant temptation to look was really hard...?!)

The next exercise was to re-draw over the picture...by doing a mixture of rubbing out/and, also, re-inforcing lines using charcoal/too, crayons.

The final stage was to get a clear brush dipped into water...and, just smudge the lines over...to produce a sort of painting.

At the conclusion, everyone's work was shown off to the whole group, and, carefully discussed; it was very interesting seeing the end results of what other people drew/painted; this is because everyone tends to draw differently from one another. As usual, I really wasn't very happy with my own artwork; though, others claimed they liked it. My fav. artists there was the actual teacher herself(she put on some really brilliant drawing/painting demonstrations); and, also, a guy called: Alan...who produced entirely 'unique' abstract work...but, which I thought was of simply astounding quality. In fact, I was even thinking of buying it from him; and, then, getting it framed; only trouble was, I then remembered that I was totally flat broke...so completely forget all about that idea!

Afterwards, I went into Dulwich Picture Gallery itself; and, in there spent some time copying 'masterpieces'. Bloody hell, it's hard trying to get even 'one single line right...?!' No wonder when I draw...it doesn't ever look like it...???!!!

260114 I stayed in all day long, correcting English on Bussuu.com

Sunday 26th Jan 2014

Yesterday, I was thinking of going to...

-visit my cousin, Sharon, inside of the country
-catching up on reading some library books; which so far have remained unread
-going to visit either Dulwich Picture Gallery/or, the gallery at the back of Baker Street...I forgot what it's called, exactly?
-going out, and, doing some exercise; such as running in the park/-etc.
-practice refining my drawing skills by copying the 'masters'
-etc.

Instead, I stayed in all day long in bed, typing away on my laptop computer machine; answering questions of how to correct beginner's 'bad' English (mis-spelled words/improper punctuation/-etc.)...at language learning web site:
http://www.busuu.com
...you are given 5 points reward each time you answer a question, successfully. By the end of the day, I had earned 1000 points. Answer 20 questions to get 100 points = 20 x 5; so, I must have answered, at least, 200 questions in order to receive 1000 points. Right now, my points total says, 1020.

However, when I really sit and think about it, I myself did NOT learn anything 'new'; as these were all beginner's English lessons...most of the answers to which I already knew. So, in the end, I suppose, one could say I merely 'wasted' the whole of the entire day.

On the other hand, it was always my ambition to become a teacher one day; so, in that sense, I really enjoyed it...the experience of teaching others always gives me a feeling of deep satisfaction.

I also love studying how to use the English language itself; so, at least, I got some playing with words 'practice' in; whereas, normally, all I tend to do is play at doing 'line drawings/and, producing pretty much mindless, and, meaningless scribbles!'

This English lessons exercise, no matter how 'basic' it was...has made me think more about 'the art of learning to write using proper grammar'; and, another spin off side effect is.. it makes me think about eitehr writing/or, reading 'poetry' more; which I haven't  been doing in such a long LONG time...!

I HAD A SURPRISE VISIT FROM PETER OF |CHAPEL ROAD THE BIKE MENDER

Somewhere around 2/3/or, 4PM; I really can't remember which? I heard the doorbell ring. So, I went down to answer it. I was sure that nobody was due to call in on me, today. I thought to myself, it might be Jehoviah Witnesses?

However, much to my surprise, it was not them; instead, it was a guy who I'd previously encountered on Chapel Road...about 2 streets away; -(we met sometime around last year: 2013/or, was it 2012?)-; who lives just opposite where the recycling bins are. He had offered before to fix my bike when it wasn't working, properly; and, he did fix it for which service I paid him not just some money; but, also, gave him one of my 'spare' bikes to keep.

Anyway, he brought me a lose bike wheel; and, asked if I wanted it; to which I, of course, replied back, no; as I don't know anything about how to fix bikes. I explained that I buy a regular year long warranty from Brixton Halfords bike shop -(costing around £20.00 in the first year/then, £40.00 in each subsequent later years)- ; which includes 'labour; but, NOT parts'...and, so, whenever anything goes wrong with my bike; I just take it there for them to go and fix it.

He looked to be in a poor man's state. I actually think he came here to ask me to spare him some loose change, such as a few spare £1.00 coins; but, then, I told him I was totally flat broke.

He asked if I have any spare bicycle pump. So, I gave him one. He also seems to have helped himself to a bike lock; but, then again to be fair, I did offer it to him to go take. I guess, when I went upstairs to go take a quick leak in the toilet; he must have decided to take the lock out of the package/along with both keys/and, pocket the lot. I just didn't realize until the moment he was gone; and, I saw the empty package.

Oh, and, yes, I offered him an unopened pack of Almond cakes; which he quite happily took.

Funnily enough, although I remembered his name; he did not seem to remember mine; thus, I had to remind him. But, I just laughed it off...by saying a lot of the time I tend to forget people's names, too...which, most unfortunately, happens to be true!

Anyway, I don't tend to see him all that much; I think, he must have visited this same house around just 3 or 4 times. One time, during the last visit, we even went out into the garden, and, practiced doing some boxing; though, of course, we didn't fight too hard; we were meant to both continue doing boxing together; but, frankly, I got real lazy and quit.

It's hard for me to know exactly what to think of Peter; who's around my own age; told me he went to the same West Norwood Primary School...only is around 10 years younger than me; so, I certainly didn't know him at the time.

I want to trust him; but, the truth is, he's just a total stranger. So, I just have to draw a big question mark (?) there...; sometimes, these sort of relationships get stronger/and, other times, they just break; well, such is life, I guess. I certainly don't go visiting him at home, though; because I only go and visit people who I do both know well, and, trust -(almost)- completely.

250114 Missed buying 2 x 2nd hand 'blank' picture frames each going for a fiver; instead, I only got 1!

Sat 25th Jan 2014

WENT DOWN THE ROAD TO GET MUM'S PRESCRIPTION FROM CHEMIST

My first appointment of the day, was to go down to the local high street chemist; to retrieve my mum's ointment prescription. I was very slow to leave home, though. Somewhere around late evening; I finally decided to go out, and, get the job done; then, immediately, come back home.

In the chemist, I also brought some Lemsip cold/flu medicine; as well as, 2 bottles of Theramed toothpaste.

I also stopped inside of a general store; and, brought 2 x toy items to give to my young cousins.

BROUGHT A LARGE WOODEN BLACK EMPTY PICTURE FRAME

On Friday I had passed by my local Emmaeus 'homeless' charity shop, which is located on West Norwood high street; and, in there I saw 2 x large 2nd hand 'blank' picture frames, each going for sale at the bargin basement price of just £5.00 each. Only trouble was, I was broke; so, therefore, couldn't afford to buy them. What I decided to do was buy them, later on, instead; whenever I could more properly be able to 'afford' it.

When I went back there the next day, Saturday; most unfortunately, I'd gone and left it far too late; I should not have waited until when evening came; but, should have gone there very early morning; as one of the smaller frames had already been purchased. Thus, leaving me to go buy the slightly larger frame; which was a bit of a difficult task having to go carry it all the way home; walking along very slowly, indeed; and, carrying it inside of both hands right up the road for 2 or 3 streets..!

Anyway, finally, I got it home; and, must say I'm pretty delighted to 'own' it. The mixture of both thick black wood/glass...I'm sure, would normally have cost me around £50.00+; because, I've seen picture frames that are less that half that size going for, at least, £20.00. That's what makes me feel so 'mad' about having lost out on buying the other picture frame so cheaply; I'm not too sure I will be able to get the same opportunity ever, again?! As usual, my really bad habit is to get to all appointments 'late!'

240114 Gave 200+ artworks to my local Auction House: Rosebery's to sell...

Fri 24th Jan 2014

GAVE 200+ ARTWORKS TO MY LOCAL AUCTION HOUSE: ROSEBERY'S TO SELL...

Today, I went down to my local auction house called: Rosebery’s; and, there I offered them some ‘drawings/paintings/prints’ for sale, namely:
120 x Peter Orrock drawings, approximately
28 x Peter Orrock paintings, approximately
61 x Harry Carmean mixture of drawings/prints, approximately
…thus, in all I offered them over 200+ artworks for sale.

In return, they gave me a dated and signed receipt; and, told me that the likely date for the auction sale will be February 2014.

All I can say is, I eagerly await what the end result will be for me, financially speaking? However, I don't have 'high hopes'. First of all, the artists works that I put up for sale are relatively 'unknown'. Second, the works I put up for sale were all brought fairly 'cheaply'...with an average cost of in between £5.00-£25.00.
Furthermore, after all of the auctioneer costs have been added up, including: storage fees/detaling each item/cataloging/photographing; then, comes the actual auction seller fees + VAT, as well; then, I would expect to get back just £300.00 for the whole lot; even though it cost me over a grand to buy.

230114 Signed up at Clapham College to go and study Science Level I

3 Appointments at Lambeth College/Clapham Centre

Today, I had 3 appointments to go and take care off; all in one same location which is Lambeth Colllege/Clapham Centre.

1PM ALS/Additional Learning Support

I explained to the guy, Simon Clarke, that I suffer from both Asperger's Syndrom/and, also, ADD/Attention Deficit Disorder. He said that's ok; the college will try and give me any further help or support that I may need.

2PM English/Maths test

I was especially afraid of having to go take a Maths test; fortunately, however, I passed both tests each at Level II ability; and, as my Science course is only Level I; therefore, I was accepted in.

4PM Science Course Interview

I showed the lady all of my previous studying certificates; and, also, my today's Maths/English results; and, she decided to accept me onto the course.

The course is 11 weeks/one day per week, Friday's; from 9AM to 3PM; and, starts 28th Feb; which is the last day of next month.

Conclusion

Frankly, I'm really worried about going and attending college at age 50+.

-The people there are nearly all far younger than me; and, honestly, I'm not used to socialising with others too much; so I wonder to myself will they either like me/or, hate me...?!

-I'm not too self-confident about my mathematical abilities/nor for that matter English? Today, I saw my passes as me being, quite simply, lucky. Many of the questions I really didn't know for 100% sure; therefore, I really had to guess. Luckily, the guesses worked! But, I'm aware there is much revision to do in regards to both Maths/English.

-I also have to do some Science prepatory study work, as well.

-I'm never too happy waking up at 9AM. I prefer to wake up somewhere past mid-day such as around 1PM.

-I tend to get distracted wanting to go do other things; ADD/Attention Deficit Disorder...sometimes, this causes me to miss days out.  Also, I give in to BiPolar, as well; meaning whenever I feel depressed; then, I take the day off...rather than go to attend lessons.

-I'm not feeling very 'fit'; so, I'm worried about having to make the trip both there and back, regularly. Even though the course only lasts for 11 weeks long; that should mean March/April/May.

Thursday 9 January 2014

Thu 9th Jan 2014 Visited Cineword: Movie: Rewatched 47 Ronin

Streatham Job Center/Went and signed on
-------------------------------------------
Today, I went and signed on at my local Streatham Job Center. I was told that I need to create a set of different C.V's; and, not just merely 'one'; with each C.V. being tailored towards doing a particular job.

I was also told to rearrange/re-write my C.V.; so that skills goes on top of Job History; and, in regards to Job History...I must leave out the dates(because my working periods are so inconsistent).

I must also add to the jobsearch site; other types of job search...such as, right now, I only have Administration listed there; I need to add more onto this list by pressing the Tab button.

British Gas Pay As You Go meter/Gas Bill: £290.00
-----------------------------------------------------
I stayed in all day; trying to contemplate how to pay all of the constantly incoming bills.

Recently, British Gas went and installed a Pay As You Go meter; because the Gas bill  was unusually high; thus, instead, of allowing us to pay for gas using a normal 'credit meter'; they decided to install the Pay As You Go meter; which doesn't allow a credit balance to, automatically, run up.

The terms are we owe an outstanding previous bill debt of £290.00; and, have to pay them back £10.00 each week on Wednesday; which works out to roughly £40.00 monthly.

Then, from observing the total on the Pay As You Go meter; I've worked out that we use £3.00 gas per day; this translates to £21.00 per week/£84.00 monthly/£252.00 quaterly/£504.00 6 monthly/£1008.00 yearly.

Frankly, I think, that having a Pay As You Go meter installed is a hell of a lot more expensive; than it is to run a normal credit meter.

They do allow you £5.00 credit if the gas runs out of the Pay As You Go meter, totally; however, of course, this £5.00 credit -(which only lasts 2 days)- has to be paid back.

Council Tax Bill: £295.00
--------------------------
Recently, I received a Council Tax bill stating I owe them £295.00. Frankly, being totally flat broke...I really don't know what to do about this? Tomorrow, Fri 10th Jan 2014, I will go down to the local Council Tax office, and, try to discuss it with them. Actually, I was meant to send them a letter in reply by law; and, I'm afraid, I've been lax; because I forgot to send it. I could try sending it tomorrow; but, then, I don't think it's going to reach them it time; as I was meant to reply by 10th Jan 2014 anyway!

Visited Cineword: Re-watched movie: 47 Ronin
------------------------------------------------
As a way to relive all of the constant worrying and stress over financial difficulties I'm having; I decided to go take a break by visiting the West End Cineworld. My Cineworld 'unlimited' pass is still valid; though, I really don't know how long that's going to last for...because it's £20.00 per month...and, my bank balance says, nil; so, the next time this payment is due...it's likely I will NOT be able to re-new membership.

First, I went to Haymarket Cineworld; but, the only film they had on was The Life of Walter Mitty...which I'd already seen before at Shaftesbury Avenue Cineworld; therefore, I decided to ignore going to Haymarket Cineworld; and, instead, go back to Shaftesbury Avenue...just to see if they have any films that are different.

Shaftesbury Avenue Cineworld inside of the Trocodero Complex has 3 late night movies on...all of which I'd already seen before; thus, I decided to re-watch my favorite, 47 Ronin using 3D glasses.

Returned back home 2PM
---------------------------
By the time I returned back home; the time was somewhere close to 2PM.

I decided just to close up the night by running around the block. I couldn't believe it when I got back; because I discovered that I'd forgotten to take my keys with me; thus, in effect, I was shut out. I had to take emergency measures to get back in, again; luckily this worked. I swear, next time, I decide to casually go running around the block; I will check, first, that I really do have my keys available on me; otherwise, it's just far too much headache.

Thursday 2 January 2014

Last Day of the year 2013 Tue to Wed 1st Jan New Year's Day 2014

Tue the day before New Year's Day 2013

VISITED SHARON/GEOFF...GAVE THEM BIRTHDAY CARD...GOT PRESENT: TRAINING SHOES

Went to Kingswood, Surrey to go and see my cousins. They had quite a few visitors; all waiting there to go and celebrate the New Year.

Me, I left early; only went to go and deliver a Christmas/New Year's card. They gave me a present in return: a pair of training shoes.

TRAFALGAR SQUARE NEW YEAR'S CELEBRATIONS

Later on, I went to London's Trafalgar Square; to go and celebrate seeing the New Year come in by watching the Fireworks display.

I returned back home somewhere around 2PM.

Wed 1st Jan New Year's Day 2014

BROUGHT HALFORDS 1 YEAR BIKE WARRANTY

I went to Halfords bike shop in Brixton; and, brought myself a 1 year bike warranty. Including Labor/but, NOT parts.

The good thing about it is, I don't need to think about when exactly will the warranty run out; as I know it covers me for the full entire year; right up until when next year comes.

CINEWORLD: MOVIE: PARANORMAL ACTIVITY: THE MARKED ONES

I visited Cineworld, Shaftesbury Avenue, inside of the Trocadero complex; and, watched the film called: Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones

http://www.cineworld.co.uk/whatson/6923?cinema=all&WT.ac=HmPgBlGB_Paranormal+Activity%3A+The+Marked+Ones&Pos=3

Good film: Scary/but, not too scary. Kinda odd looking; like someone recorded it on a 'normal' kind of home movie camera; but, the strength of the acting/script/story/sound effects were all top notch.
