- 11:30 AWOKE: ANSWER MACHINE MESSAGE: UK ENERGY MANAGEMENT

I awoke. Walked next door to see the answer machine button 'flashing'. Wondering who's called...I pressed the button marked: '1571'. Apparently, at 10:37 AM, a female voice called me from a company called: UK Energy Support

Jade: 0191 466 1185

However, the message I found to be somewhat indistinct...can't quite make out the name/or, what the call was meant to be about...I think, it mentioned 'booked in for a survey...following your application(online)'.

I phoned them...; said they would call me back. Left it there...

----------------------------------------------

- 12:11 STILL LOOKING AT AN ARTICLE/VIDEO I SAW ONLINE, YESTERDAY...A RAVEN CREATING PAINTINGS JUST LIKE JACKSON POLLOCK

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-12034595/Its-Jackdaw-Pollock-Odin-raven-paints-just-like-American-artist.html?fbclid=IwAR1BsNQkVS_6kg8K4ga2OiQ3QqMhbKS7QS47qjQ_wVR0M36vfGuxOlHm14I

----------------------------------------------

- 12:15 MY CURRENT A/C IS OVERDRAWN BY £20.00...WILL NEED TO VISIT STREATHAM...IN ORDER TO DEPOSIT SOME ADDITIONAL FUNDS...BEFORE 2:30 PM.

I checked what is the state of my current a/c.; it said I'm, currently, overdrawn.

Will need to visit Streatham in order to deposit some funds.

I also have to make that deposit before 2:30 PM...; otherwise, the money will 'bounce'...and, the bank will slap on additional overdrawn fees/as might the companies themselves.

----------------------------------------------

- 12:30 MADE FRUIT SALAD/COOKHAM SANDWICHES, BREAKFAST: BAKED BEANS & 1 X FRIED EGG

I decided to make some quick snacks...

- Bowl of fuit salad: 2 x grapefruit slices(Vitamin C)/1 x diced banana/1 x diced apple/dates.

- Half a French Stick bread...; cut into 4...filled with butter/cook ham slices.

I also made some breakfast...

Baked beans/and, 1 x fried egg

...normally, I would use 2 eggs; but, as there is only 1 box of 6 eggs left...; therefore, I decided to use those eggs rather sparingly; then, the rest of the 5 eggs left in the box...might just last to the end of the week.

----------------------------------------------

- 14:00 UK ENERGY MANAGEMENT PHONED ME BACK - SENDING ME AN EMAIL TO REPLY TO

I received a phone all from UK Energy Management...who'd called me earlier this morning.

They asked me if I use a mobile phone so they can send me a text message. I told them, no, I don't; but, you can send me an email, instead.

They said they would send me an email, therefore; later on, today...; and, I should reply to it, as soon as possible.

----------------------------------------------

- 14:30 MISSED DEPOSITING FUNDS INTO THE BANK ON TIME...?! ADD/ATTENTION DEFICIT DISORDER

As usual, whenever I have an appointment to go to...no matter how 'important' it is...instead, of leaving 1/2 an hour early...as I did originally schedule...; I ended up leaving it right up until when the very last minute came...; which is when I have to decide should I still leave home or not...?

As it is I've already missed my 2:30 appointment to go to the bank to deposit funds...so, I guess, the charges due will be piled on, anyway...nothing I can do about that, now; thus, I just decided to 'relax'...no need to run, anymore.

----------------------------------------------

- 14:40 DECIDED TO HAVE A GO AT PLAYING 'FREE' GAMES AT BOTH WILLIAM HILL/LADBROKES...BUT, DIDN'T WIN ANYTHING

I thought to myself, with money being so 'tight'...let me have a go at playing FREE games at both...

- William Hill
- Ladbrokes

...web sites; but, this time, I didn't win anything.

----------------------------------------------

- 15:30 WENT TO STREATHAM BECAUSE I HAD TO MAKE A DEPOSIT...ALSO, DID SOME SHOPPING

I went over to Streatham to make a deposit into my current a/c. which was overdrawn.

I arrived there too late...should have deposited funds before 2:30 PM...; so, extra bank charges might be added, I'm afraid.

-----

I entered Lidl supermarket, where I went and brought 10 x Jam Doughnuts + 1 Almond roll.

-----

I recall entering Streatham Library to use their toilet facilities.

-----

I brought some shopping inside of Aldi supermarket.

- 6 x Raspberry Butterfly cream cakes
- 1 x packet of chocolate Macaroons
- 8 x Tortilla Wraps

-----

I also brought a £2.00 travel pass. (The old one was totally falling apart...so, I dumped it inside of the bin.)

-----------------------------------------------

- 18:00 RETURNED BACK HOME FROM STREATHAM...MOVING ALONG GOING UPHILL REALLY 'SLOW'

Walking down to Streatham wasn't so bad...; but, the return journey home...was a bit more difficult, and, 'slow'.

All the time I'm asking myself...who the hell is this...walking at a pace of 2/3 mph.?! This can't be me, surely.

I want to run...but, can't...because my knee hurts/so, do my ankles...my legs feel so heavy...; and, also, I do find myself ever so easily 'out of breath'.

-----

I hate to have to say it...but, being aged 60+ is really tough; and, especially so if you compare yourself to when you were young. I recall I used to walk/run really 'fast'; as a matter of fact, I ran everywhere...hardly ever walking. Now-a-days, though, it's the exact opposite...I walk everywhere/and, hardly ever run.

- CONCLUSION: GAMBLING/EXERCISE

------------------------------------------------------------------

- 8 PM-5 AM THE USUAL LATE NIGHT/EARLY MORNING INSOMNIA

As usual, I tend to remain 'wide awake' during the late evening/nights...all the way up until when next early morning comes...finally, nodding off...; and, then, going to sleep somewhere around 5 AM.

Most of that time is spent either watching TV/Internet.

TV...
- News (like to catch up with the 'latest' that's, currently, going on...)
- crime channels/police shows/border policing
- travel
- etc.

Internet...
- Checking emails
- Reading/Writing/Replying to Facebook messages...including IM/Instant Message chat
- Checking out YouTube movies
- etc.

------------------------------------------------------------------

- 02:00 TEMPTATION: GAMBLED/WILLIAM HILL FREE BETS: WON £3.XX/THEN, NEXT, ROULETTE: £3 -> £5.13/WITHDREW: £5.00

The bookies, William Hills, keeps on sending me regular daily emails...offering me FREE bets.

I try my best to resist it...; but, sometimes, I just end up 'giving in'...; thinking to myself...well it is a FREE bet...so, I'm NOT losing any 'real' money...?

-(Even, though, doing FREE bets...; will, eventually, lead to gambling using 'real' money, instead; and, especially so when one is a self-confessed 'gambling addict'...who once I 'start' gambling...really doesn't know how to stop...?!)-

So, one of their emails said...get 5 FREE spins...; and, I was sorely 'tempted' to go find out exactly what my luck would be alike...???

I clicked on the email offer...; and, was led to go 'sign in' to William Hill web site...; where I made the FREE 5 spins. Much to my surprise, it 'won'; and, all of a sudden, my previous remaining balance which was near nil...said: £3.xx.

Next, I thought to myself...why not try and use that £3.xx to gamble on Roulette, instead(which is my favourite game, btw); and, again, I 'won'...this time my closing balance said: £5.13p. I decided to withdraw £5.00 back to my current a/c. card; and, leave just £0.13p inside of the a/c.

I reasoned that whenever I awake...I can, then, go out and buy some much needed cat food.

Yea, cool. I had a nice night! ;-)

------------------------------------------------------------------

- 05:00 WATCHED TV/INTERNET: YOU TUBE, SLEPT

I believe, after lying in bed...watching both TV/Internet: YouTube...I went to sleep at around 5 AM...early morning.

Though, the real truth is, I really can't recall 'exactly' when I fell asleep...; all I know is, one minute I was lying back in bed awake...and, watching TV/Internet...constantly, using the Remote Control to hop/change channels...; and, then, suddenly, I fell asleep, at some point.

------------------------------------------------------------------

- 12:00 AWOKE: THINKING ABOUT VISITING PAXTON GREEN TIMEBANK/FOODBANK BETWEEN 12 - 4 PM/(DIDN'T GO: NEXT WEEK TUE, MAYBE..?)

When I awoke, it was close to mid-day...; and, I was thinking, today, is Tuesday; and, Paxton Green Timebank/Foodbank...that I had signed up for online...would be open, now...anywhere between 12 noon - 4 PM.

However, the truth is, my mind became 'distracted'...doing either this or that...; which mean I missed going to the Foodbank meeting; oh, well, that can wait...until when next week Tue comes.

------------------------------------------------------------------

- 12:30 COOKED: RICE/SARDINES/TIN CAN OF: CHILLI CONCARNE: HAD 3 X HELPINGS - MADE FRENCH STICK BREAD/COOKHAM SANDWICHES - BOWL OF FRUIT: DICED APPLES/DATES/GRAPEFRUIT

I felt hungry...; and, so decided to make some stuff...

- Brown rice/Sardines/Chilli concarne
- Fruit bowl: Diced apple/sprinkled with around 7 dates/2 slices of grapefruit(Vitamin C)
- Sandwiches: French Stick Bread/plus, slices of Cookham

When the rice did, finally, cook...; I believe in all...I had around 3 x helpings...before the rice was, finally, done/finished.

Ate the 'sweet' fruit/dates.

Left the cookham sandwiches inside of the fridge to eat/snack on, later.

------------------------------------------------------------------

- 13:00 WATCHED TV/INTERNET: YOU TUBE, SLEPT

Again, I watched TV(Judge Judy/Crime Channels/Travel: Buying a house in the country/-etc.)/internet: YouTube channels...then, at some point slept.

------------------------------------------------------------------

- 20:30 AWOKE: FINISHED DINNER

When I next awoke it was late evening...; and, I decided to heat up the dinner pot...; now, all of the rice is fully finished.

All that's left to eat is...

- Cookham sandwiches in the fridge
- 3 x loaves of brown bread to make peanut butter/chocolate spread sandwiches
- etc.

I've completely run out of...
- Bananas
- Tangerines
- Cucumber
- etc.

When you are living on a 'low' income...then, things like: money, food/drink...tends to run out really 'fast'...; and, thus, you feel you are, always, 'living on the edge'...?!

------------------------------------------------------------------

- 22:20 HAVE TO GO OUT TO BUY MY CAT SOME MORE FOOD: BECAUSE, I'VE TOTALLY RUN OUT OF CAT FOOD POUCHES...OK, BROUGHT ENOUGH CAT FOOD TO LAST A WEEK/DON'T HAVE TO RUN OUT THERE EVERY SINGLE DAY, ANYMORE

Another thing I'm very deeply 'aware' of is...I've completely
run out of cat food pouches...; so, will have to walk/run down the road to go buy some more.

Normally, I would buy a lot of cat food to last 3 or so months; but, when I'm 'broke'...; then, I have to go out and buy cat food pouches costing £0.85p, regularly.

It's a pain...; but, another way to look at it is...I do have to 'go out'...and, thus, get some 'fresh air' into my lungs; plus, I will be tempted to exercise just a little bit...by either walking/running.

-----

Eventually, I went out 'late'...the West Norwood CoOp supermarket stores closes at 11 PM...and, I left home around 10:30 PM; but, I can get there in 15 minutes if I 'run'.

I brought some £10.20 of cat food pouches/as well as, £5.00 of tuna cat food pouches; so, in all, I spent £15.20 on just 1 weeks long of cat food supply.

At least, I will no longer have to keep on going out on the streets...just to buy cat food, anymore; well, at least, not until when next weeks comes.

-----

I had £5.00 worth of change left...on my debit card. So, I brought 2 x packs of doughnut's...custard & cream/and, the other one Jam doughnuts.

And, basically, I left the shop...pretty much totally flat broke...with less than £2/or, £3.00 left inside of my current a/c.

-----

I recall taking a 'short cut' home...by walking past St Luke's Church yard...; where I saw some guy sleeping on the concrete pavement...using a sleeping bag.

(I wasn't actually near him...; but, walking on the other side of the street pavement.)

I was thinking I should give him one of the packets of doughnuts I'd brought. But, then, I thought, again...; like if it was me...would he buy me anything, I wonder...? Somehow, I do very much doubt it. So, I just kept on walking...

-----

I often have a lot of 'empathy' with other people...thinking to myself...if that was me...would I wish others to treat me good/or, badly...? So, I will often go out of my way to treat other people well...; but, the reality is, if that were me...an awful lot of people would just totally 'ignore' me/or, even worse, mock me for being so poor...saying why don't that street bum go find himself a job, instead...?!

(If only things were always that perfectly simple, straight forwards, and, easy. A lot of street people got problems...of one kind or another...concerning either mental/physical health...or, indeed, possibly, a mixture of both.)

------------------------------------------------------------------

- 23:30 DIDN'T EXERCISE: NOT FIT, ANYMORE...EXPERIENCING HAVING ALL SORTS OF ACHES AND PAINS...; WENT OUT DID JUST A LITTLE BIT OF 'SKIPPING' REALLY LATE...

Yesterday, I do recall going out into the alleyway...to take a video of my practicing doing some 'skipping'.

However, the side effect of that was...my ankles/ball of the foot started to make me feel some 'pain'.

This sort of thing never happened to be before when I was 'younger' and did practice doing some skipping.

I guess, it's what happens...when you don't use your body enough to exercise...such as, walk/run/jump.

I will, of course, practice doing some more 'skipping'...that is, whenever my body feels up to it.

-----

Well, I decided I'm not going to let a whole entire day go by...without me having done some 'skipping'; so, at around 11:30 PM...I went out and tried it. Wasn't too very successful...the rope keeps on getting trapped beneath my feet. But, at least, I tried doing something...as opposed to doing absolutely nothing.

------------------------------------------------------------------

CONCLUSION: GAMBLING/EXERCISE

-----

GAMBLING

Gotta watch the gambling...; it's a huge temptation, especially, when one is broke. You think to yourself...I've only got £1.00...so, why not gamble...and, then, maybe, 'double/triple/quadruple' it/-etc.; but, the thing one tends to forget is...the gambling odds are always set against your winning anything...; this means the longer is the time you choose to remain there gambling for...; then, more and more likely it is you will, eventually, lose...all of your original stake bet/plus, any winnings.

The other scenario which tends to happen to me, quite regularly, is...; today, I bet and won £5.00; but, then, tomorrow I'm tempted to go back there...and, bet say £10.00...with the intention of 'doubling' my money...and, do run into a 'losing streak'...which means I lost it 'all'. The lesson being...whatever I 'won' at the bookies...; I will, usually, go and 'lose' at some point during the future. Most certainly, if I were to add up all that I went and lost...compared to how much I won...then, I lost at least 10 times more than I ever did win.

-----

EXERCISE

Gotta take it easy on exercise as one grows older. Too much strain...is NOT good for the body...something might just break...?!

The way to go...is, always, listen to what you body is telling you...; if it says, stop...then, just stop...until whenever you are feeling much better, again.

- 21:00 CONCLUSION: GETTING OLDER IS REALLY TOUGH...IT'S SO DIFFICULT/DANGEROUS EVEN TO TRY 'GETTING IN SHAPE'....ONE HAS TO BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL NOT TO OVERDO IT...?! OTHERWISE, ONE MIGHT FIND ONESELF IN HOSPITAL/OR, EVEN FAR WORSE...DEAD, POSSIBLY

- 22:15 WENT OUT TO PRACTICE DOING SOME MORE SKIPPING: AGAIN, USING 'ALTERNATE LEGS'...THIS TIME HAD SLIGHTLY BETTER SUCCESS

----------------------------------------------------------------------

- 12:00 NOON AWOKE: THINKING ABOUT VISITING TATE BRITAIN

I thought about visiting Tate Britain gallery; but, for some weird reason my mind keeps on getting 'distracted'.

Tate Britain gallery is open from 10:00 AM - 6 PM.

I know if I leave anywhere after 3 PM; then, I don't want to go there anymore...; because I would have missed the rest of the morning/day...; and, just stay for no more than a couple of hours long.

I want to wake up really early...; and, then, go...; in that way, I can get to spend the whole entire day there...; and, not just have to leave -due to closing time- almost as soon as I've turned up.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

- 13:00 MADE BREAKFAST: BAKED BEANS/EGGS/SAUSAGES - SALAD: DICED APPLE/BANNANA/GRAPEFRUIT/DATES - SANDWICH: FRENCH STICK BREAD/WITH COOKHAM SLICES

I feel it's really necessary to eat, properly; because, when I don't...for example, I miss breakfast...then, I find myself needing to 'snack', constantly, nearly all the time.

Then, I look back, and, ask myself whatever went wrong there...? Simple answer, you missed breakfast!

Alongside breakfast, I try and make...

- a bowl of fruit
- a bowl of sandwiches

...these things -(which I place inside of plastic Tupperware with lids on/then, store inside of the fridge)- can be used, later on, at any time during the rest of the day as 'snacks'.

It's important to eat 'healthy'; and, that means paying careful attention to what you eat. I find I can pay a lot more careful attention...by preparing food beforehand.

Rather than pulling out bags of crisps/sweet biscuits/ice cream/-etc.; whilst watching TV/-etc.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

- 13:30 SMART METER/OR, 'SCARY METER', I WONDER...?! MY CURRENT SPENDING ON ELECTRICITY AMOUNTS TO: £3.00 PER DAY/OR, £90.00 MONTHLY/£270.00 QUARTERLY CHARGE

From even since British Gas came an installed a Smart Meter...; I find that whenever I turned something on...such as the electricity to boil a kettle of water...then, the meter just keeps running the bill up and up...?!

It makes one feel very highly reluctant to touch either gas/electric; otherwise, you will be running the bill up even further.

In fact, I find myself starting to call my Smart Meter...the SCARY METER, instead!

It seems to be saying that I'm currently spending £3.00 per day; 10 x £3.00 = £30.00/and, with 30 days in a month...that means 3 x £30 = £90.00 monthly electric bill. No wonder the bills are so damn high. I am charged every quarter...so, 3 x £90 = £270.00; then, they add on VAT + meter standing charge fees/-etc..

----------------------------------------------------------------------

-14:00 WENT OUT TO PRACTICE DOING SOME SKIPPING: THIS TIME USING ALTERNATE LEGS...WASN'T WORKING...GAVE UP

So, I went off outside into the alley way...taking my iPad along with me...in order to make a video recording.

Before, I skipped for around 1 minute long...having both legs together; this time, I wanted to try skipping using a different 'technique'...where one skips using 'alternate legs', instead.

I tried doing 3 separate video recordings...; and, each time, it was a total mess. Basically, I haven't been using the 'alternate legs' skipping technique in a while...; and, frankly, I can't seem to do it very well, anymore. Going to need to put in a lot more practice.

Consequently, I gave up doing any further video recording; and, just came back inside.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

- 17:00 GOT A SURPRISE PHONE CALL FROM AN OLD COLLEGE FRIEND: MICHAEL KENNEDY (NOW, AGED 81/DOG OWNER)

I received a 'surprise' phone call from a guy who I'd met inside of Brixton College...where we were both on an introductory 'web design' course. I couldn't help noticing, that the web pages he was interested in writing was all about 'dogs'.

He said he was looking through his phonebook; when he decided to call up a few names...; and, so that's how he arrived at my own phone number.

I recognised the voice, immediately, right away...; he said he'd gotten a new dog, now...a large shaggy sheep dog. Yes, I do remember that dog...; I saw both him/and, it...at Emmaeus homeless charity shop...when I went there to see if there were any 2nd hand bargains I could find.

-(Before, I recall he had owned 2 dogs...1 x medium size/and, another smaller.)- The story behind it goes...he met an old lady inside of Tivoli Park...and, she said to him if he could keep the dog for her...because she was getting far to old to be able to walk it; to which he agreed.

We spoke about old times for a bit.

He said, one time he had collapsed when walking...; and, his dog had saved him...by licking him around the head to 'revive' him; eventually, his legs felt stronger...and, so, he went off to Kings College hospital in order to get treatment.

When I mentioned that I had reached 60. He mentioned that his age is 81 years old, now. That surprised me...as I never thought he was that old....; however, because he is a regular dog walker...; therefore, he always seemed to be a lot more fit than most.

When I said, at age 60 I was thinking of applying for an over 60's bus travel card. He mentioned he had a FREE bus travel card...; and, he used it to travel all up and down the country...even to Deal where he was born. I think, he is referring to the old people's FREEDOM Pass...which is a different thing entirely; I think, you need to be 65/68 years old to be approved to get that one.

I told him I used to practice drawing...; but, I hadn't drawn anything, recently, anymore; but, I'm always thinking of getting back into it. I knew he loved art...; because, we had both exchanged art books together/and, I also recall giving him 1 or 2 drawings of my own.

Anyway, he invited me over to his house to go visit him...; and, I just answered, I'll be happy to meet with you, casually, as we pass by in the street; but, no, I don't wish to set up any 'fixed' appointment...to which he also agreed.

Next, I said, I need to go down to West Norwood CoOp supermarket to buy my cat some food; and, we both left the conversation there.

-----

He lives not too very far away from me...on Dorset Road...which is above West Norwood bus garage/and, also, opposite the fire station. Having already been to visit his house on quite a few occasions -(though this is going years back, now)- located near to Tivoli Park...where he walked his dogs...that is, when he had 2. We even walked with the dogs over to Streatham Common to go visit seeing The Rookery.

As I can recall...although, before I had visited his home on multiple occasions/and, he mine, at least, once or twice(this is when my mother was still alive)...we had a bit of a falling out together...; which is when our relationship had ended. The guy tends to get a bit drunk, sometimes; and, can say things he doesn't really mean. Well, after he spoke very badly to me, once...; I just decided I'm not going to let that sort of thing happen ever again. So, I'm definitely not interested in visiting him.

Sometimes, I think, of human relationships as a bit like food from the shops...each comes with a sort of 'sell by date'...; that's to say...there comes a time when one finds it's necessary to 'move on'...; quite honestly, you've totally outgrown being in that relationship...thus, it's of no benefit to you, anymore...just becomes a right pain that you can't even wait to escape from...?! In fact, you find yourself wondering...why the hell did I let myself get caught up in having that relationship in the first place...??? But, me, I generally take people on trust...; until I find they are not trustworthy...; then, that's when I leave.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

-19:00 DECIDED TO GO OFF DOWN THE ROAD TO BUY MY CAT SOME FOOD: BECAUSE, I'VE RUN OUT, AGAIN...?!

Normally, I buy my cat around 3 to 6 months worth of cat food; then, I don't have to worry about that, anymore.

However, of late...the cat food has run out, completely...; and, thus, I find myself having to go run down to the local West Norwood CoOp superstore in order to buy more.

If I had a lot of money, then, I would buy £10.00 worth...which buys a pack of 12 cat food pouches...enough to last 1 week. But, if you choose to buy the cat food, individually, instead...then, the price is £0.85p each. Yesterday, I think, I brought her 2 packets; and, now, today, I've run out, again; so, I need to walk/run down the road to go buy more.

This type of situation is not going to last too long, however...; before I get totally 'sick and tired' of it. I will, at some point, buy her some food in bulk; then, I won't have to worry about needing to run out and purchase more like every single day!

----------------------------------------------------------------------

- 20:00 WENT OUT TO PRACTICE DOING SOME MORE SKIPPING: AGAIN, USING 'ALTERNATE LEGS'...WASN'T TOO SUCCESSFUL

This is the 2nd time I've tried doing this same skipping exercise, today; and, just like the 1st time...I seem to be having loads of difficulties co-ordinating both hands/feet; which, in turn, means...I can only skip 2/3/or, 4 times...without the rope entangling either around my head/legs...?!

Looking on the good side, however...after attempting to skip say 10 or so times...just once/or, twice...I managed to get way with making 10 skips in a row...before the entanglement came. So, that sort of gives me some hope of possible future improvements.

However, looking back at how easily I used to do this same exercise in the past...; skipping for minutes and minutes long...without the rope getting entangled; then, I really just CANNOT believe how difficult the exercise has become for me to do, now-a-days...?!

All the time, going on inside of the background is my fear of, possibly, having a heart attack/-etc. It is, indeed, a 'dangerous' thing getting older...; especially, if you are not careful to monitor/and, control yourself...what you 'think' you can do...and, what you can, actually, do...I'm afraid, isn't always the same...?!

I still remember the 70 year old guy who was attempting to do his 'black belt' test...; and, instead, fell down and had a heart attack...and, thus, died. I do NOT wish to end up like him; instead, I'd rather switch to doing something less heartbeat strenuous like stretching/Yoga; but, for now, at least, I'm still working on improving my stamina.

I swear, if I tried running just say 25 yards...not only am I 'aware' that I'm running most incredibly 'slow'...5-10 mph, at most...; and, that I'd also be totally and completely out of breath...! None of these very highly bitter experiences...does bode really well for me, in future.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

- 21:00 CONCLUSION: GETTING OLDER IS REALLY TOUGH...IT'S SO DIFFICULT/DANGEROUS EVEN TO TRY 'GETTING IN SHAPE'....ONE HAS TO BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL NOT TO OVERDO IT...?! OTHERWISE, ONE MIGHT FIND ONESELF IN HOSPITAL/OR, EVEN FAR WORSE...DEAD, POSSIBLY

As a person who has done some 'keep fit' for virtually all my life...through childhood/adult hood/middle age...I think, it's fair to say I know quite a lot about exercising: Yoga, dance, gymnastics, martial arts, distance walking, running, riding a bike/-etc.

But, I have to admit...I was never a keep fit 'fanatic'. Instead, my habit has always been to 'start and stop'...'start and stop'...that's why I never actually made it to the top...; but, instead, stayed a complete 'beginner' all my life.

Exercise involves...

- deep breathing
- meditation
- stretching
- technique/strong focus (study/understanding)
- rhythmic and repetitive movements (Karate kata/shadow boxing/-etc.) in order to improve
- strength
- stamina
- food: eating/drinking 'healthy'
- positive thinking (good words/good thoughts/good deeds)

...so, as one can see from reading the list above...far from simple...exercise can be really quite 'complex', in fact.

When I was younger...I felt I could better handle it a whole lot more, effectively. But, now, that I'm older...60+...I must confess that I'm finding doing exercise, effectively...and, more important, sticking with it, gets increasingly harder and harder.

I have done...

- no press up's
- no sit up's
- no leg raises
- no splits
- no head stands/no hand stands
- no running around the block

...there is so much that I just didn't bother to do, anymore; and, I seem to find it really hard to motivate myself enough to 'want' to.

And, going on top of all this...is the fact that I'm 'scared' the body can't really take it anymore...? Like I don't want anything to, quite suddenly, snap/or, break...; one has to try and go as 'gently' as is possible.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

- 22:15 WENT OUT TO PRACTICE DOING SOME MORE SKIPPING: AGAIN, USING 'ALTERNATE LEGS'...THIS TIME HAD SLIGHTLY BETTER SUCCESS

I went out for the 3rd time today...into the public alleyway...to practice doing 'alternate leg' skipping.

This time, I'm happy to report...the effort was not so bad; meaning, sure, there were times when the rope got entangled; but, there was, at least, some improvement being made in terms of 'hand/foot' co-ordination.

My honest feeling, now, is...I can re-learn how to skip...; but, it's just going to take a certain amount of, time/effort/patience.

I'm not too sure about going out in public, and, doing it, though; as I fear somebody is going to challenge me, either sooner or later...?

What I might have to do is clear a pathway inside of the backgarden...; where I can practice doing skipping in 'private'...and, not engender so much attention from out of the general public.

One young guy asked me...as he passed by the alley way...what are you doing there? I said, I'm learning to skip; and, just laughed.

Another guy came pass to do a Pizza delivery...to the next door neighbours.

A next alternative might be to walk up to the park; and, practice doing skipping there...; at least, in the park...where a lot of people go to do exercise...you don't quite tend to stand out so much...as when you are doing skipping inside of a public alleyway...where everybody else is just walking.

Sun 300423 Stayed in...eat rice...slept..awoke...too late to go Tate Britain. Listened to YouTube music/danced.

 Sun 300423

Didn't do anything much...; was meant to go visit Tate Britain...but, didn't. Just stayed in...as I recall...I went and cooked some rice/cabbage/carrots...sprinkled with some onion/beetroot from the jar; eat it with a tin can of tuna. Cooking everything inside of a large Chinese wok.
I just felt so full...that I really didn't wish to 'move', anymore. Had 1 helping...followed by two, three, four.
I went back to sleep, actually.
Woke up...too late to attend going to the gallery. Still didn't feel like going out. So, stayed in...watching YouTube music videos; and, doing a little dancing...late into the night.

——————-
- 12:54 PM THINKING ABOUT VISITING TATE BRITAIN GALLERY...
Today, I wish to get over to the gallery...Tate Britain...is easiest...if I take the number 2 bus...from the very bottom of my road; then, all the way back, again.
I also did put money onto my Oyster travel card...with that express purpose...£10.80 balance.
For me, the weekend is by far the very best time to travel..; as my mind is less likely to get ‘distracted’ by having to do so many other things, instead...during all the rest of the week.
-----
- 13:30 PM VISITED EMMAEUS CHARITY SHOP/AND, ALSO, THE 2ND HAND SHOP NEXT DOOR
I visited Emmaeus homeless charity shop; where I like to go to peruse items to buy.
I didn't find anything 'cheap' there, though; it was £7.50/£10.00/£15.00; and, I just didn't have that sort of spare cash.
I liked seeing the Japanese stuff they had...a bit like fans; but, not a fan...showing Kabuki actors/actresses.
Afterwards, I visited the 2nd hand shop next door...; where I saw the guy watching 'female rugby' on a TV. I said to him, how extraordinary...they now have 'female football' on the TV/and, 'female rugby'. He replied, that only recently they've been showing 'female rugby'.
I looked the other items he had for sale in his store...; but, again, the price was too high to go 'tempt' me to buy anything; as, I only had £4.00 left inside of my bank a/c.; so, I said, 'goodbye'; and, then, very quickly, left.
-----
- 14:00 PM TOOK SOME VIDEOS OF ME DOING SKIPPING...OUTSIDE OF PUBLIC BUILDINGS
I took some videos of me being seen 'skipping'...outside of public buildings in West Norwood; (I didn't skip for much too long, though...just merely seconds...; before, going off and visiting seeing another place, instead.)
- West Norwood Leisure Centre
- St Luke's Church Yard (back/and, too, front)
- West Norwood Library
- West Norwood Cemetary
- West Norwood Bus Garage (In the end I decided to take those video's down from off Facebook...as they were a bit too boring...; just me doing the exact same skipping exercise, again and again. So, I left up there just 'one' video of me skipping...; and, decided that was more than enough.)
-----
- 15:00 PM PLAYED CHESS INSIDE OF WEST NORWOOD LIBRARY
I already knew that on Saturdays...they have FREE games of Chess at West Norwood Library...somewhere around 12:00 noon-1 PM.
So, I went in there to see if I could see anybody playing at the Chess Club; and, sure enough I found them.
Normally, they would play inside of a library room...; but, today, thet room was left 'empty'; because today was really sunny...; therefore, they choose to play Chess outside in the open...within an enclosed glass window space.
I went out there...and, played two games of chess with the chess leader...I'd played against him before, and, on multiple occasions; but, most unfortunately, he beat me, twice.
We had an interesting conversation, though...
ME: I was born in Kings College hospital 1963.
HIM: I was born same place, too, in 1958.
ME: I used to attend Norwood Park Primary School on Gypsy Road.
HIM: (I forgot where he said he went...)
ME: Afterwards, I went to Tulse Hill Secondary School
HIM: I used to attend the Strand.
ME: Those are all names I can distinctly recall...brings back memories.
We both shook hands; and, he told me come back next week...to
which I agreed.
-----
- 17:00 PM BROUGHT SOME CAT FOOD AT WEST NORWOOD COOP
Finally, I got around to doing what was my previous 'going out' aim...which was to go and buy some food for the cat...inside of West Norwood CoOp supermarket store.
When I returned back home...I called the cat in from the back garden...; and, fed her.
Need to let her back out, again...whilst the sun is still shining. She's at the back of me...lying on the sofa having a quick 'catnap' sleep.
As well as cat food...; I also brought from the same CoOp...
- 2 chocolate doughnuts...going cheap @ £0.57p (read: going out of date).
- 1 x packet of 'plantain' crisps @ £1.10p
-----
- 18:00 PM DIDN'T GO: TATE BRITAIN GALLERY CLOSED, NOW...; I WILL TRY AGAIN, TOMORROW
Unfortunately, I let myself get 'distracted' by going off, and, doing other things. When I looked at the time...I realised that Tate Britain Gallery is, now, shut; because, they open at 10 AM; then, close at 6 PM.
But, no worries about that...I have already got everything ready...
- bus travel pass has credit on it: £10.80
- brought a yearly Tate Gallery membership pass
...so, I will go there tomorrow. (If I don't get 'distracted', again...? ADD/Attention Deficit Disorder.)

Fri 280423 Facebook uploaded videos/Pra Group assessment/Over 60 Oyster card/Library book fines/Smart card voucher payments

FACEBOOK VIDEOS/STICK FIGHTING

During the last couple of days, I used my iPad to take some 'selfie' videos...of me playing around using a broomstick; and, pretending to do martial arts.

I think, altogether I must have gone and uploaded, at least, 8 videos, previously; and, this morning I decided to make another 2.

The idea behind it is...at least, I'm taking some exercise; as opposed to just lying down and doing absolutely nothing.

-----

PRA GROUP/ASSESSMENT

When I went and checked any letters that might have fallen through the front door...I saw there was one from Pra Group. They wanted me to phone them to do an assessment of what is my current circumstances...; so, they can be sure I'm making the right monthly re-payments...which is £5.00 monthly. In all, I think, I owe them something like £240.00 still outstanding for a credit card debt.

Anyway, I spoke to a female representative...for around 15 minutes or so...; then, it was agreed the current plan can still remain in place...for the next 6 months. If I am having any problems in the mean time...I should get in touch.

Overview | Transport for London (tfl.gov.uk)

I visited tfl.gov.uk web site...to apply for an over 60's Oyster travel card.

The only trouble there is...I don't have...

- A passport
- A driver's licence

...so, I will have to find a way to get around this.

What I did do, today, was to successfully register my interest with them...; so, they allowed me to sign up at their web site...with a username(email)/password combination.

This is merely just step 1.

The email they sent me says...

>>

      Activate your oyster card account
<<

Only, I need to...

- show suitable ID

- pay £20.00 to purchase it

- pay £10.00 yearly to keep it

...all of these things I still haven't  done, yet. Therefore, the a/c isn't fully 'activated', yet.

-----

WEST NORWOOD LIBRARY

I visited West Norwood Library...in order to pay some library book fines: £10.90.

I paid them £3.50...which leaves me still to pay another £7.40 balance.

I didn't bother taking out any further library books...due to fears of running up some more  library books 'overdue' fines. (Somehow, I can never remember to re-new the books on time...; even, though, now-a-days, it is possible to renew online.)

WEST NORWOOD POST OFFICE/ADDED 2 X GOVERNMENT VOUCHERS ONTO DOWNSTAIRS ELECTRIC METER 'SMART CARD'

The government gave me 2 x vouchers each worth £67.00; which where also getting fast 'out of date'.

I decided rather than waste that help...might as well use it, instead. So, I went off down the road to go visit West Norwood post office. Had to bring along ID...birth certificate/recent utility bill.

I'd never tried topping up my newly installed 'Smart meter' this way before...by using credit vouchers; but, much to my surprise, the vouchers were accepted...and, there was no complaint.

My only big worry was...when I return back home...will the voucher purchase show on the meter itself?

However, when I did return back home...yes, the purchase worked. I, now, have a balance total of £393.69 on my downstairs electric meter...; and, all of that credit was government voucher based.

What I really should have done...is add those vouchers to my upstairs 'gas' meter bill...which is, currently, -£348.xx in debit. But, as I already made a payment agreement with British Gas to pay them £50.00 fortnightly towards this...; plus, they haven't given me any 'smart cards' to use upstairs, yet, on both the gas/electric meters; so, I just used the vouchers to cover downstairs, instead.

My guess is, judging from the amount of electricity I use downstairs...which is around £30.00 monthly; therefore, I should have enough money on the downstairs electric meter...to last, at least, around a year long.

Thu 270423 Current a/c. overdrawn/brought 4 x t-shirts/10 x Jam Doughnuts/avoided chicken and fries

DEPOSITED FUNDS INTO OVERDRAWN CURRENT A/C.

When I awoke...I checked what was the state of my current a/c. online. I found I was badly overdrawn...

-  bank charges on an overdraft loan of £2,000.00; this resulted in £30.00+ monthly interest/plus, more fees for DDR bouncing.

-  TalkTalk had charged me £52.50...£12.50 because a Direct Debit DDR had bounced

- and, so on.

So, I really had no other choice but to walk over to Streatham in order to make the necessary deposit into my current a/c.; at W H Smith/Post Office.

-----

I walked into a store that was advertising t-shirts on sale: £15.00 for 4/£5.00 each/1 FREE. So, I decided to go with that...as I need t-shirts, desperately...; many of my own t-shirts do have holes in, I'm afraid.

-----

LIDL SUPERMARKET

I walked down to Lidl...where  I brought myself 10 x Jam Doughnuts.

-----

STREATHAM LIBRARY/REALLY GOOD SMELLING FOOD

Afterwards, I walked across the road to visit Streatham Library. In there I smelled some really wonderful cooking...meat, curry and rice...in one of the rooms next to the side entrance. I asked if anybody can eat...and, a lady came over and told me, yes...if you're a member. I forgot exactly what she said you should be a member of. Anyway, she said she would be willing to let me have a plate of something...; but, for some reason, I went and changed my mind(pride, didn't wish to look too poor, I guess); so, I just left to go check out the rest of the library. All the time, I'm smelling that cooking...it's been so long since I've eaten some really good food.  But, no, I wasn't going to give in to temptation. I just told myself, I brought 10 x jam doughnuts...surely, that should be enough...if I can only 'wait' to get home; then, I can eat these with some tea.

-----

THE WALK HOME

As I walked home...at the same time, I really couldn't resist eating some of the Jam Doughnuts. I must have eaten 3 outside...before getting home.

Eventually, when I did arrive home...I ate another...3/or, 4; with tea. After that I was pretty sick of Jam Doughnuts...didn't want to eat anymore...even with my incredible 'sweet tooth'.

I had the rest of the Jam Doughnuts the next morning when I awoke.

I thought to myself...those 10 x Jam Doughnuts should have lasted me all week long; but, instead, in just 2 days...they were all completely gone...?!

-----

Later on, during the late evening...I started to feel pangs of wanting to eat MM Chicken...from Tulse Hill/their shop is on the corner junction of York Hill...along the main road.

The cost is £9.99 for 20 x chicken wings + 2 x fries. I knew that all the money I had left inside of my current a/c. was just £10.01p.

In the end, I decided to put buying the 'chicken and fries' off...until another day; because, number 1, my funds were so low; and, number 2, there were some other things I needed to buy like cookham/and, lamb pattie in West Norwood Iceland; so, I decided to go with that idea, instead.
