Wed 140824 12:00 Midday...man came to value the house...

HOUSE VALUATION

Today, a man came to put a valuation on the house.

The valuation was free...courtesy of my old Primary school pal, Michael Thomas...who lives half way down thersame road...now-a-days, he works as being an 'estate agent'. He explained to me...that, normally, the valuation would have cost anything between £500.00-£1,000.00; but, assuming the house is to be put up for auction sale...; therefore, the valuation is being done for FREE, instead.

Anyway, the guy came...he took a number of photographs..up/down/outside...; and, also, video of the house...; then, he left.

I did try asking him...if he could give me a 'rough estimate' of what the house valuation might be...; but, he was non-commital...stating that he would need to consult the other guys about valuing the property.  He also said to me that big houses like this don't usually go up for sale.

-----

My own internal feeling is, I do NOT wish to sell off the property; because, it is a family house that we've been living in for over 1/2 a century long. I came here since I was aged 8 -(the rest of the family lived here before that)-; and, now, I'm currently aged 61; so, it would be very disappointing, indeed, to have to leave.

However, when one is 'unemployed'; then, it's not possible fix the leaky roof/and, the roof leaks in multiple places...; thus, forcing me to place down/keep on emptying out buckets...whenever it pours down rain.

The problem being, I can't see things getting any better...; instead, I can only see things getting much worse. What if...the house roof were to, quite suddenly, completely collapse...; and, I don't have any money to fix it...?! A part of the chimney is also threatening to fall down; again, I have no money to fix it...?! So,..???

Sat 200724 14:05 PM GMT Article: Origami, my personal experience...plus, links...

I originally 'copied and pasted' in this post to the Facebook group:

----

THE ART OF ORIGAMI/(PAPER FOLDING)

My own special interest of the moment is, Origami(the art of paper folding; one can create all sorts of shapes, including: functional/decorative objects/or, toys).

I really enjoyed doing Origami from ever since being a pre-teen child...; but, like most children..my interest sort of both 'waxed and waned'...especially, during the later teenage years period; meaning, when I left school...I had pretty much 'stopped' practicing it.

Most adults are not even in the least bit interested in doing Origami, anymore; because they have so many other far more important issues to deal with...namely, how to find work/pay for all the endlessly incoming bills/and, also, buy food/drink for themselves...purely in order to, 'survive'.

-----

STANDARD ORIGAMI SHAPES

At first, I remember learning how to create standard Origami shapes:

- paper hats
- boxes
- toy bangers
- paper planes
- toy boats
- water bomb
- paper crane
- food serviette
- etc.

-----

FAMOUS ORIGAMI BOOKS/AUTHORS...BOS/BRITISH ORIGAMI SOCIETY...DIFFERENT KINDS OF ORIGAMI

At around age 25+ or so...; I brought some book written by a 'famous' Origami author called: Paul Jackson(A Complete Step By Step Guide); and, through, following the diagrams shown inside of this book...I discovered I was able to create even more shapes than is the normal 'basic' standard ones. Next, I went on to buy a book of non-standard boxes by 'famous' Japanese author: Tomoko Fuse(Fabulous Origami Boxes). -Etc.

From there I went on to join the BOS/British Origami Society(I live in the UK); and, they publish a bi-monthly mag.; which teaches different shapes/as well as, explains where the 'latest' group based Origami conventions do occur. (I still haven't attended any Origami convention, yet, though...; but, when one is near my part of the country...then, I'm sure, I will go.) They also have online teaching, as well...; done through Zoom software.

To date, I learned there is 'single sheet' folded objects...; as well as, 'multiple sheet' folded objects...the latter is called: 'modular origami'. There is 'still' Origami shapes/and, shapes that 'move'. There are also many other types of Origami, such as: 'mathematical Origami'/'wet folding'/and, 'computer software' which one can use to create folds/in addition to which there is, 'Origami doodling'/and, even, 'abstract Origami' designs/-etc.
-----

ORIGAMI, AS WELL AS BEING A PURELY 'DECORATIVE' ART...; ALSO, HAS SOME PERFECTLY 'SERIOUS' APPLICATIONS, AS WELL

For anybody out there who happens to think that Origami is just purely a 'fun' pastime mere 'trivial' hobby. It might be well worthwhile, very carefully, noting...that the billion pounds space travel project called: JWST/James Web Space Telescope...; they used Origami to fold up the telescope...; so, that it could be carried 'compactly' inside of the spaceship...; and, then, be expanded outwards much larger...inside of outer space.

So, Origami, does in fact have many 'real world' application/uses, too. I even read somewhere they were thinking of using it to do 'nano-sized' applications inside of the human body...to carry out surgery/-etc.
Indeed, some 'professional' people choose to make their living out of doing Origami either part time/full time...by teaching it to others/or, writing/publishing books of their own Origami designs/-etc. I've even seen Origami designs being sold on eBay platform.

If somebody asked me, now-a-days, with the commonly available internet...where would be the best place to go and learn Origami; then, I would answer them to go and check out YouTube videos...; you might find some design there you might like...; the ability levels do range from: 'simple/intermediate/complex'.

Tue 120324 WMCollege Class: GCSE English/online 6:30-9 PM. Shopped Crown Point Lidl...spent £30.00+.

Tue 120324 WMCollege Class: GCSE English/online: 6:30 PM - 9 PM. 9:30 PM Went out to do some shopping at West Norwood Crown Point Lidl supermarket.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Table of contents:-

-> 18:30-21:00 WMCollege class: GCSE English/Online.

-> 21:30 Went to do shopping inside of Lidl Supermarket store at West Norwood Crown Point

-> 23:00 Eat rice/and, chicken wings.

-> Conclusion: College isn't totally stressing me out, yet. At least, I'm no longer stuck being in 'starving' mode...; and, there is some food at home. Nevertheless, it all tends to run out...either sooner or later...?!

----------------------------------------------------------------

-> 18:30-21:00 WMCollege class: GCSE English/Online.

I believe that for most of the day I slept.

Though, I awakened to the 'drip drip drip' sound of the bedroom roof leaking. The leak even landing onto the bed. I got up and
changed/emptied out the buckets of freezing cold rain water...; and, then, replaced it...to go fill up, again.

The rain in England, I'm afraid, can be really bad...; sometimes, it just pours rain all day/night long...non stop. Then, when you have a leaky roof to go worry about...; things just feel even far worse. What's going to happen...is the roof about to, suddenly, cave in...?!

-----

Anyway, I moved over to the living room; and, being on the Desktop Computer...because I knew I had a GCSE English class to take online on Tuesday 6:30-9 PM. -(On Thursday, the same class
is taken at the same time...only inside of college, instead.)-

I seem to have passed everything. Well, nearly everything. I did have some difficulty when I tried hurrying far too fast...; and, answered the questions...before reading what were the answers text. I think, I got 3/out of 10 for one test/and, 10 out of 10 for another. Anyway, these are just merely 'mock' questions...so, I'm not too very deeply worried about it; to me, it's just 'practicing' to learn how to deal with the real exam...whenever that comes...?

----------------------------------------------------------------

-> 21:30 Went to do shopping inside of Lidl Supermarket store at West Norwood Crown Point

After taking the GCSE Class...I decided I'm hungry and it's time to go and do some shopping inside of West Norwood Crown Point Lidl supermarket store.

I brought...

- 2 x packets of 12 x Chicken Wings
- 32 slices of ham
- 4 mini bread rolls
- 2 x tubs of butter
- 5 Jam doughnuts
- 2 x packets of chocolate Bourbon biscuits
- 2 x packets of Rich Tea biscuits
- 2 x packets of chocolate (twix/but, it's not named, Twix...a different brand)
- 2 x packets of other chocolate bars
- 2 x packets of sausage rolls
- 2 x packets of milk: Almond/Coconut
- 1 x packet of mild cheddar cheese
- 1 x cheese/pineapple yogurt
- 1 x large yogurt...plum flavour

... I think, that was it...as I really can't remember what else...?! All I do know is the total shopping bill came to around £30.00+.

------

I forgot to buy other things...

- salad/fruit: tomatoes/cucumber/oranges/bananas/apples/
- diary: eggs/peanuts
- bread/
- etc.

Nevermind, I'll get these another time...; quite possibly, tomorrow...Wednesday, is a day I still have left 'free'...from having to go out to college.

----------------------------------------------------------------

-> 23:00 Eat rice/and, chicken wings.

I think, it was around 2 days back when I made some rice/potatoe/egg. Some of which I eat/and, the rest I stored inside of the fridge using plastic Tupperware.

So, because I had brought some Chicken Wings from Lidl; I thought why not use the rice to go with it.

I heated up half of the rice...; and, placed on top of it 6 chicken wings. -(Leaving another 6 chicken wings to eat tomorrow/along with 1/2 a tub of rice...all stored inside of the fridge.)-

I gotta say, having had some 'real food', today; really felt good.

I can go 2/3 days without having any proper food; just snacking on sandwiches/and, sweet drinks; but, then, any longer time period than that...; and, my body yearns to have some proper food...rice/meat/potatoes.

----------------------------------------------------------------

-> Conclusion: College isn't totally stressing me out, yet. At least, I'm no longer stuck being in 'starving' mode...; and, there is some food at home. Nevertheless, it all tends to run out...either sooner or later...?!

-> 21:30 Tried 'heating up' an old tin of chicken soup. But, went and forgot that I'd left it on the fire/electric twin cooker hub. When I next remembered to go check it out...; all of the contents had spilled/burned out...; thus, leaving nothing to drink/eat...!

-> 23:29 Made 4 x slices of bread sandwich: butter/peanut butter/lemon curd/chocolate spread + tea

-----

As usual, I arrived in class 'late'. Only this time -as the teacher herself noted- only just 15/20 minutes 'late'...as opposed to being over 1 hour long 'late'...?!

Such habitual 'lateness' presents a serious problem...because according to the college rules...if a person is over 10/15 minutes 'late'; then, the teacher can mark them down as having been 'absent' from the lesson altogether...even, though, the pupil was actually there. Pupils are asked to 'sign' an agreement stating they will attend on time...so as not to 'disrupt' the class...where the teacher has to keep on explaining everything straight from the beginning all over again and again.

Too, one has to carefully bear in mind that this is a 'short' course...consisting of just 5 weeks long...; another 'strict' rule is, you are meant to have 80% attendance, at least. What that actually means is, if you miss 1 lesson...then, that's it...the college can choose to refuse you to let you sign up for having any more lessons there...; because your attendance level was just far too poor.

I do not wish to banned from going to this college...; as I like going there...; and, find the general atmosphere to be ok. People are caring, friendly, warm, kind, -etc. (It's not every college that's like that...; in some, one just ends up getting into fights.../or else, in order to avoid serious problems; then, just simply, quit/leave.)

-----

Trying my best to think why I was 'late' this time...? I awoke on time at around 8:00 AM; but, as usual, was 'slow' to get ready...meaning, fully washed/dressed/feed the cat; then, let her out into the back garden/-etc.

I had already promised myself before...; my aim should be to wake up at 7:45 AM...then, get ready by 8:45 AM...so, that I now have 15 minutes to 'spare'...thus, allowing me to go running off down the street in order to get the bus to reach Brixton tube station; because, I know if I leave by 9 AM...; then, I should arrive in college being on time.

However, it happens to me, repeatedly...that I actually end up leaving the house at 9:15 AM, instead. Bearing in mind, it takes me 1 hour long to travel over to reach Mornington Crescent tube station...which is where the college is located; so, if I leave at 9:15 AM...; then, already, I know, I'm going to be 15 minutes 'late', at least.

-----

Oh yes, there were some travel problems.

I had taken a plastic bag containing 5 x books needing to be returned back to the college library.

And, as I was on the tube...I started reading one of these...; then, I completely forgot where I was...; and, so, I missed getting off at the right stop.

I ended up at Euston...; where I got off the tube train...and, crossed over the platform...to go over to Camden Town.

I got off at Camden Town tube station...and, walk/ran my way using back streets...to reach down to the college.

I did explain as much to the teacher...; and, she did seem to sympathize. (That doesn't mean she won't mark me down as being 'absent' for being over 20 minutes 'late'...I really just don't know...?)

-----

This ALS/Additional Learning Support class is relatively small in size...consisting of around 6/7 pupils, altogether; and, there are 2 female teachers...one main teacher who instructs/and, too, a teaching assistant who helps whenever pupils get stuck.

I like using AI-Adobe Illustrator software...; because, I always wanted to be introduced to using Adobe software suite...; and, AI is just 'one' of their software packages. Other Adobe software includes: Adobe Photoshop/Adobe Dreamweaver/-etc.

Being poor, though, I could not afford to buy Adobe software suite to use to practice with. However, the college gives each pupil an individual email:

collegeIDNos@student.wmcollege.ac.uk

...and, this allows the students to 'sign in' to Adobe suite...; and, practice using any software they want for FREE.

-----

The class lesson is...select and download from the internet 4 x photos off famous buildings...in any city of your own choosing...I chose: London.

- Tower Of London (bridge)
- King Henry VIII castle
- Harrods shopping store
- Dulwich Picture Gallery

First, we upload the photo into AI-Adobe Illustrator; then, we use tools: paintbrush/shapes/-etc....to go draw over the photo onto a separate layer...which can be 'saved'.

Next, we sign in to Canva.com...; and, using their FREE online software...

...the task is to design/create 4 x separate Postcards of the AI-Adobe Illustrator drawings we did.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

-> 13:30 PM-14:30 PM WMCollege, Went downstairs to practice using AI-Adobe Illustrator software on the college computers

Most unfortunately, I've only executed doing no more than 3 drawings so far; with another one still remaining to go do.

But, I figure...as it's a Monday class...; and, I have to return back to college during the next week...; at least, 2/3 more times...; so, I can return back to go finish off the job...before next week begins.

Mind you, I did say that exact same thing last week; and, didn't do it...?! Whenever I get on a computer...my mind gets 'distracted' by doing so many other things...programming/and, YouTube/-etc.

After a while, -bearing in mind, I didn't get sufficient sleep- both my eyes feel so extremely tired...I cannot bear to 'stare' at the screen anymore; so, that's when I do totally give up...and, just go off home.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

-> 15:30 Arrived back home, again...took underground tube to Brixton; then, changed to taking a 415 bus up to Tulse Hill train station; from there I took a number 68 bus to reach West Norwood bus garage.

I went home...by taking an underground train from Mornington Crescent...over to Warren Street; then, from Warren Street...I took the Victoria line..going over to Brixton.

-(At some point, the tube train I was on...passed by Pimlico station...which is the Tate Gallery stop; and, inside I was absolutely dying to go see the 'latest' John Singer Sargent exhibition show. However, I just thought to myself seeing the show can, in fact, 'wait'...; because, it's only just 'started'. I believe, the exhibition ends in July...; so, there still remains plenty of time to go see it. I wanted to be able to try and 'copy' his works. As it was, I was eager to return back home...through just feeling, simply, far too tired...; therefore, wanting to get in some more rest/sleep.)-
.
Coming out of Brixton tube Station...I took a number 415 bus going to Tulse Hill train station. From Tulse Hill train station I took a number 68 bus going to West Norwood bus garage.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

-> 16:00 Made 2 phone calls to my cousins. It is confirmed that everybody seems to be keeping relatively ok.

KEEPING IN TOUCH WITH FAMILY: PHONE CALL 1

I phoned one cousin, who lives inside of the country; just to find out how they are getting on.

It appears everyone is doing ok.

I was surprised when a young child answered...because, I thought they would still be inside of school. So, I inquired are they on holiday, maybe? No. The time was around 4 PM...and, apparently, school breaks up at 3 PM.

-----

KEEPING IN TOUCH WITH FAMILY: PHONE CALL 2

Next, I phoned another cousin...in fact, I phoned them yesterday; or, was it 2 days back...? Anyway, at that particular point in time...they said they were just getting ready to leave the house; so, I told them I will phone back another day.

When I returned back home...I saw the answer machine light flashing...meaning, a recent message was left. I check it...and, it was my cousin calling me back...stating they were sorry for being busy that day...; but, today, I can call.

I phoned them...as usual, we both spoke really quite amicably to one another....; reminiscing about the past(when my mum was still 'alive)...; until when, eventually, the conversation finished.

-----

It is very important to keep in touch with family...; and, remain on good terms with them...; because, you never really know when you might need their help or support/and, I suppose, vice versa, as well...not that I'm in any financial position where I can offer help/support to others, I'm afraid; but, emotionally, I can.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

-> 17:00 Cooked dinner: rice/potatoes/carrots/(left some to eat for tomorrow).

Lately, there hasn't been too much food left inside of the fridge. However, I did buy some...

- 2 bags of rice
- 2 bag of carrots/(got 1 bag of carrots left)
- 1 bag of potatoes

So, I made a very simple and straight forwards meal, putting on pot of: Rice/Carrots/Potatoes...which I seasoned using both salt and pepper.

I ate some/and, also, stored some inside of plastic Tupperware...; to go eat another day. (Next time, I don't need to cook/just 'heat things up'...which should prove to be whole lot 'quicker'.)

Tomorrow, I should have some money coming in...; and, then, I will go out to Crown Point Lidl...and, buy some £2.49p of Chicken wings...; which I can, then, heat up along with the rice.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

-> Dealing with the 3 x leaky roofs/house.

The house roof is leaking in 3 different places, all at once, whenever it rains.

Unfortunately, England is an awfully 'rainy' country...all year round.

Yesterday, for example, the rains started at 6:00 AM morning...and, I asked Alexa device: 'Alexa, what time is the rain going to stop?' The answer which came back said: 'It's going to rain all day.' Well, sure enough, Alexa was right...it rained all the way straight through from 6:00 AM morning...right up until...6:00 AM of the next day's morning...which is 24 hours of non-stop rain.

-----

How do I cope with the leaks...if I have no money to be able to fix it...?

Well, I have to place down papers to go soak up the rain...without getting the floor boards/carpet too wet; then, on top of these papers, I place down layers of black dustbin covers...as the rain cannot penetrate through plastic sheets; then, I place on top of the black dustbin covers...some more newspapers; so, this is a 3 layered/multi-layered approach; finally, I place on top of everything buckets to collect up the rain(I don't actually have enough buckets to collect up all the rain...so, that leaves plenty of 'random' puddles here and there).

-----

All I can say is, living with the house roof leaking in 3 separate
places...; and, having to watch things grow, quite steadily, worse and worse -as you have no money to fix it-; is just a 'living nightmare'...?! All the time one wonders to oneself...is the house roof going to collapse at some point...???

The rain water even leaks onto the bottom of the bed; which means I cannot stretch out my legs completely straight...; just have to keep them bent, instead; and, being 'forced' to remain in this position for much too long...just leads to all sorts of 'cramp' pains.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

-> 19:00 Went down the road to empty trash into the public tip; especially, 'wet newspapers' having been laid down due to the leaky roof.

The bin men said...they didn't want it...; as it was 'contaminating' other rubbish; and, therefore, I must bag up all of the 'wet newspapers'...and, place these together; then, they will be willing to take it away.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

-> 21:30 Tried 'heating up' an old tin of chicken soup. But, went and forgot that I'd left it on the fire/electric twin cooker hub. When I next remembered to go check it out...; all of the contents had spilled/burned out...; thus, leaving nothing to drink/eat...!

I really should never let myself go on the computer...; when I've left things cooking downstairs...; as, otherwise, my attention becomes so completely 'distracted'...that I forget about all and everything else.

Check this email/check that...read/reply back to this social media message/post social media messages of my own. Go over to YouTube to look at the 'latest' videos... Then, I find it's impossible to remember that I had left things cooking on the stove...?

What` I should have done is, at least, told Alexa device to set a 10/15 minutes long timer. I don't know why I keep forgetting to do such things...; as this is not the first time that this has happened.

But, I guess, inside of my mind...as soon as I leave out of the kitchen...my thinking goes...I 'know' I've left something on...; and, so, it's only minutes, later on, 'afterwards'...when I tend to completely forget...?

-----

-> 23:29 Made 4 x slices of bread sandwich: butter/peanut butter/lemon curd/chocolate spread + tea

I closed the night by making myself some tea/and, 4 slices of sandwiches:

- 1 x slice of bread/with lemon curd spread
- 1 x slice of bread/with chocolate spread
- 1 x slice of bread/with peanut butter spread
- 1 x slice of bread/with just plain butter spread

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

-> CONCLUSION: Life is tough(though, admittedly, it could be a whole lot worse)...; and, I'm still 'surviving'...or, just about.

Dulwich Picture Gallery Article: Soulscapes

YouTube video: Soulscapes

The 'soulscapes' exhibition was related to African art/photography.

Because, I arrived there 'late'...therefore, I did not stay long...; this was just meant to be a precursory visit...just to see what kinds of things was on...??? Which will, then, decide if I need to go back there soon or not.

------------------------------------------------------------------

-> 18:00 Visited The Cake Shop in Tulse Hill...where I brought a cream cake costing £3.50p.

Being I'm someone with a 'sweet tooth'...; therefore, every single time I pass by in front of The Cake Shop in Tulse Hill...I look in through their window...at what's on offer to buy. Wow, loads...

Last week, I actually went in there...just to see the prices...some small cakes cost: £3.50/others -the large cakes- were £12.50/23.50/30.00/-etc.

Anyway, for the very first time...I went in there to 'buy' something...I started off by buying a £3.50 fresh cream cake...just in order to discover what it would taste like...? It tastes 'fresh/sweet(not too sweet)/good'...I like it a lot. Will go back in there to go buy some more, in future...; that is, whenever I can afford it...???

-> 18:20 Visited M&M in Tulse Hil...where I brought 10 chicken wings + 2 fries...costing £10.99p.

Because, I was already in Tulse Hill...and, the M&M shop is located just over the road...I really couldn't resist...I went into M&M and brought myself the usual order: 10 x chicken wings + 2 fries costing £10.99.

------------------------------------------------------------------

-> 21:40 Ordered a £14.00 ticket to take part in Dulwich Picture Gallery evening course: Wellness Doodling with Lisa Stickley. Wed May 15th 7:30 PM

I am paying something like £44.00 per year to be a member of Dulwich Picture Gallery...; so, I'm glad I used my pass, today...; as opposed to NOT using it at all(a waste of money, otherwise).

I also signed up at DPG to join a short 1 day evening course related to Doodling costing £14.00.

I had looked at the cost of their other courses...; and, it was a lot more 'expensive' than that: £40.00+ upwards...; so, I just decided to buy the 'cheapest' course they had.

------------------------------------------------------------------

-> Conclusion: An interesting day. Where I had some money left over to be able to buy some things...; as opposed to being left just totally flat broke.

I wish I could learn to 'save' money, instead of 'spend' it. But, especially, when one is relatively poor...; then, it can be awful hard to save up, regularly...when you want things 'now'...; so, you end up spending all the cash you have...then, tomorrow you're totally broke, again...just like before.

Tue WMCollege: GCSE English 'mock' exam test: 6:30-9PM/Signed up for Prepartory Maths Mon 2-4 PM

Wed 270224 WMCollege: Joined a 'new' Prepatory Maths course: Mon evenings 2-4 PM./Passed GCSE 'mock' exam test: 27/35.

------------------------------------------

-> 16:00 WMCollege: Maths assessment/passed. 'Prepatory Maths' Course to start next week Monday 2 PM-4 PM.

-> 18:30 WMCollege: GCSE English Mock Exam/Passed. 27 out of 35.

-> 21:30 Went for a long traveling journey: Mixture of underground trains/bus. Hammersmith bus/tube station. Brought myself a 'cheap' McDonald's Hamburger: £1.19 Arrived back in Streatham...brought 1 more 'cheap' McDonald's Hamburger: £1.19. Finally, went home.

-> Conclusion: Lot's of worrying to do...; the house is not ok...roof leaking like mad/threatening to go fall down at some point...I just don't know when...???!!! There's no money to go fix it...; so, I have no other choice but to, simply, watch and wait...

------------------------------------------

-> 16:00 WMCollege: Maths assessment/passed. 'Prepatory Maths' Course to start next week Monday 2 PM-4 PM.

I knew, I had to do a maths 'test' at WMCollege...; and, had booked the time to be 4 PM.

Only, as usual, ADD/Attention Deficit Disorder strikes. If I have a 4 PM appointment...and, with 1 hour to travel there. Then, most likely, I will be getting ready to go at 4 PM on the dot...; and, therefore, will leave at least 1/2 an hour 'late'....; with a further 1 hour of travelling still to do on top...so, that makes me more than 1 & 1/2 hours 'late'...!

First thing I did when I arrived in college was to realize that I had forgotten to take along my 'ID name/photo badge' card. However, the college was prepared for that...and, gave me a 'temporary' visitors card to use, instead; because, the receptionists all know my face extremely well by now; as I visit the college all too very regularly.

I believe I went up to Room 401...where I took a Maths assessment. Honestly, I was expecting the test to be computer based...and, long...lasting, at least, 2 hours...; just like it is in other colleges. But, nope, this test was paper based...and, really wasn't a test. There were 2 papers to go fill in.

- Paper 1, said fill in your name/college id number/and, also, state why you are interested in maths/and, what has been your experience before.

- Paper 2, asked a series of questions...can you count change.../-etc. Mark, 1, if it gives you anxiety/2 if anxiety level is less/and, so on...down to 4.

Within minutes, the so called 'test' was all done. And, the guy, Peter, I think his name was...head of the Maths department...said I had passed...; and, I could start Maths course on Mon evenings 2-4 PM.

I came way feeling just totally 'amazed'...after worrying and worrying about it for so long...; thinking that I need to prepare/or else, expect to fail miserably...; well, all of my worrying was for nothing, in reality; as I passed without needing to put in hardly any effort at all.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

-> 18:30 WMCollege: GCSE English Mock Exam/Passed. 27 out of 35.

Initially, I couldn't find which room...; on the notice board there were 2 GCSE courses being listed, Room 401/701; I visited them both with no luck.

Then, I came back down to the receptionist desk...; asked further questions...still not getting anywhere.

-(Then, I remembered there was a college book that I had borrowed; which I could not find...; so, I decided to go upstairs and check out the college Library...; in order to inquire about the missing book. The guy at the Library desk confirmed, no, I did not return it. I asked him how much does the book cost to replace? He answered me, £14.00. So, immediately, I took out my debit card and paid.)-

When I came out fo the library...I went downstairs 1 level...; and, that's where I found the maths 'test' room was: 501...; because I saw my teacher standing up inside there: Tracy Elliot. She told me to 'wait'...along with everybody else...as we were 1/2 an hour too early...to take the English 'mock' exam test.

-(I went downstairs to practice on the college computers for a while. Chatted to some guy...who I noticed had a work of art 'male head/and, shoulders' on his computer screen. He said, he drew it inside of a 'live' portrait class.)-

Then, I went back upstairs...

We entered the room in total silence as instructed by the teacher; and, then, sat the mock exam papers. I'd forgotten to bring along a black biro pen along with me...; and, then, somebody kind borrowed me one.

After 1 hour long...the teacher gathered together all of the 'test' papers...; and, told us to come back in, later on.

When I returned back upstairs...the teacher handed us our 'mock' exam papers...and, the marks she placed on the front said I had passed; which was some huge relief. Because, I had joined in with this GCSE class 'late'...everyone there was already a pupil before me. On the other hand my marks were far from being 'perfect'; instead, I had gotten just 27 out of 35. So, a lot of improvement to do there still.

Anyway, at that point, close to 9 PM I left college.

---------------------------------------------------------------

-> 21:30 Went for a long traveling journey: Mixture of underground trains/bus. Hammersmith bus/tube station. Brought myself a 'cheap' McDonald's Hamburger: £1.19 Arrived back in Streatham...brought 1 more 'cheap' McDonald's Hamburger: £1.19. Finally, went home.

I went out to do a little bit of travelling...; as I didn't wish to go home, immediately, right away.

I got on a Mornington Crescent tube...; then, switched over at Warren Street. But, a message said, for 'emergency' reasons Warren Street tube station was closed...and, everybody must leave.

-(I'm still not too sure what the nature of the Warren Street tube station 'emergency' was...as the announcement wasn't specific...; it just said, everybody must leave.)-

UPDATE(280423)

I walked out of Warren Street tube station; then, took a number 27 bus...at a bus stop located just around the corner...which took me all the way to Hammersmith bus/tube station.

After arriving at Hammersmith station...I saw a McDonald's branch...where I brought myself a 'cheap' hamburger costing £1.19.

Then, I hopped on the tube train from Hammersmith...I was very highly surprised to find I had, actually, reached the end of the tube station line.

Anyway, the next stop I got off at was Sloane Square; went around the corner...; and, jumped onto a number 137 bus going off to Streatham.

Got off at the bus stop...2 stops away from Streatham bus garage...; and, inside of Streatham McDonald's I brought myself one more 'cheap' hamburger costing £1.19.

(So, in all, I went and brought 2 hamburgers for, today; enjoyed it, both times. Out there it's 'freezing'...; and, when your stomach is 'empty'...; it's good to fill your stomach up with something both tasty and hot.)

Came out Streatham McDonald's...; and, took a number 147 bus home.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

-> Conclusion: Lot's of worrying to do...; the house is not ok...roof leaking like mad/threatening to go fall down at some point...I just don't know when...???!!! There's no money to go fix it...; so, I have no other choice but to, simply, watch and waitw...

- If I had a job to go to...; then, I would do the job...and, just forget about going off to college...; so, that I can earn money to fix the leaky roof.

- Failing having a job...I choose to go off to college...so, that I can study to earn qualifications in order to get a job...so, that I can fix the leaky roof.

If the roof wasn't very badly leaking...I, most probably, wouldn't have gone to college, in the first place...; much preferring to stay in, and, study on the internet at home. Why bother to go through doing all of that endless commuter traveling both 'to and fro'...; I don't particularly like being on the streets...; especially, not in the 'freezing' cold...?!

-> 1PM - 4 PM Practicing learning: Adobe Illustrator; too, programming using: Python/C/C++ at: programiz.com

-> Conclusion: Love learning/love teaching

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-> 10 AM-12:30 PM WMCollege, Creative Computing : Adobe Illiustrator

Unfortunately, I left home 1/2 an hour ‘late’...at around 9:30 AM; because it takes 1 hour long to reach WMCollege in Mornington Crescent...; therefore, I knew I was going to not make it into the 10 AM lesson on time.

-(This is a huge problem, because if you are a few minutes late...; then, that’s ok; but, if you are over 1/2 an hour late...then, you could be marked down as being ‘absent’ from the lesson...even if you did, actually, arrive.)-

In fact, this was my first lesson of this term class...; although this is the 2nd of 5 classes. (I couldn’t make it to class last week...; because there was a job centre conflict of times...they wanted me to do a 10:00 AM English/Maths course elsewhere. Which, eventually, I was able to resolve...by stating I was already studying at WMCollege.)

The aim of this class was really very simple...open AAdobe Illustrator...and, use the drawing tools...to copy a photo downloaded from the internet. I’d chosen famous London buildings as my theme. I tried copying Henry VIIII’s Hampton Court Castle.

I watched the work that others had done...which was much more effective than were my own, admittedly, ‘inexperienced’ efforts. I wasn’t at all pleased with my own copying. Going to have to practice one hell of a lot more, I guess.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-> 1PM - 4 PM Practicing learning: Adobe Illustrator; too, programming using:
Python/C/C++ at: programiz.com

After the lesson I went downstairs to practice on the college computer...which also have Adobe Illustrator included. However, the YouTube tutorials I choose were much too long...; and, therefore, I let my attention get ‘distracted’.

Most of the time, I actually spent it using the college Mac computers to practice doing some programming using ‘beginner’ level C/C++.

I also found some ‘beginner’ level tutorials to work through, including: Python, C, C++. The web site was called: Programiz.com.

The problem was they only allowed you to work for FREE through something like 12% of the tutorial...before demanding a fee to be paid; and, at that point, I quit...not being willing to pay anything.

-----

NOTE: These tutorials were particularly good/excellent, in fact. As it gave you ‘hands on’ coding experience using the web browser...as well as, ‘example codes’ to go and run.

I should also like to add the tutorial was AI-Artificial Intelligence aided...so, if you ever got stuck; then, you could ask it to ‘test’ your code...and, then, explain exactly what had gone wrong...; this kind of extremely clear explanation made the code very easy to correct.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-> 4:30 PM Shopping: Camden Town, Poundland...brought 3 large chocolate bars.

In Camden Town ‘Poundland’...I brought 3 large bars of chocolate each costing £1.00 each.

- Ate 1 bar on the street whilst waiting for the bus.

- Ate another bar on the bus.

- Took 1 chocolate bar home.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-> 6 PM Shopping: Norwood Crown Point: Lidl. 8 x Bread mini-rolls./Packet of Cookham.

I popped into Norwood Crown Point Lidl supermarket store...where I brought 1 packet of 30 cook ham slices costing £2.49/and, 8 x bread mini-rolls at 0.25p each...costing £2.00.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-> 6:30 PM Shopping: Crown Point, brought 4 x chicken pieces, and fries.
The weather was freezing cold...; and, I decide I wanted something to heat me up...so, I went into a shop -(forgot the name)- where I brought 4 x chicken pieces, and, fries costing £2.99.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-> Conclusion: Love learning/love teaching

Overall, I'm really glad I rejoined going back to study inside of college...even at 60 years old; because, the truth is, deep down inside...I am at heart an 'academic'...meaning, I 'love' to study for hour and hours...indeed, all 'day/night' long.

It makes me feel really good when I 'know' a subject really well; and, it makes me feel really awkward' when I don't fully understand...in fact, it makes me feel just like being a complete 'idot'...if I don't get it...?! For these reasons, I 'love' to learn.
I suppose, my ideal job would be to become a teacher...who can 'share' all that I've gone and learned. But, as they say, nothing in life ever comes really straight forwards, simple, easy. I have to cope with, often, crippling shyness, self-doubts, lack of self-confidence; not being too used to socializing with others...much preferring to keep my own space/-etc. Therefore, I tend to be really awkward when interacting with others, I'm afraid.

Apart from that, I'm most definitely not the punctual type...with ADD/Attention Deficit Disorder...I tend to get everywhere 'late'...; which means, I would hardly ever get there on time...that wouldn't work out too well, at all...?!
However, there is more than 'one' way to teach...you can teach online...; or, using YouTube/or, by building your own teaching web site/-etc. So you don't necessarily need to be there at an exact time...when people can 'sign in' online to go access your content for all of 24 hours/7/366 non stop.
