The 'soulscapes' exhibition was related to African art/photography.

Because, I arrived there 'late'...therefore, I did not stay long...; this was just meant to be a precursory visit...just to see what kinds of things was on...??? Which will, then, decide if I need to go back there soon or not.

------------------------------------------------------------------

-> 18:00 Visited The Cake Shop in Tulse Hill...where I brought a cream cake costing £3.50p.

Being I'm someone with a 'sweet tooth'...; therefore, every single time I pass by in front of The Cake Shop in Tulse Hill...I look in through their window...at what's on offer to buy. Wow, loads...

Last week, I actually went in there...just to see the prices...some small cakes cost: £3.50/others -the large cakes- were £12.50/23.50/30.00/-etc.

Anyway, for the very first time...I went in there to 'buy' something...I started off by buying a £3.50 fresh cream cake...just in order to discover what it would taste like...? It tastes 'fresh/sweet(not too sweet)/good'...I like it a lot. Will go back in there to go buy some more, in future...; that is, whenever I can afford it...???

------------------------------------------------------------------

-> 18:20 Visited M&M in Tulse Hil...where I brought 10 chicken wings + 2 fries...costing £10.99p.

Because, I was already in Tulse Hill...and, the M&M shop is located just over the road...I really couldn't resist...I went into M&M and brought myself the usual order: 10 x chicken wings + 2 fries costing £10.99.

------------------------------------------------------------------

-> 21:40 Ordered a £14.00 ticket to take part in Dulwich Picture Gallery evening course: Wellness Doodling with Lisa Stickley. Wed May 15th 7:30 PM

I am paying something like £44.00 per year to be a member of Dulwich Picture Gallery...; so, I'm glad I used my pass, today...; as opposed to NOT using it at all(a waste of money, otherwise).

I also signed up at DPG to join a short 1 day evening course related to Doodling costing £14.00.

I had looked at the cost of their other courses...; and, it was a lot more 'expensive' than that: £40.00+ upwards...; so, I just decided to buy the 'cheapest' course they had.

------------------------------------------------------------------

-> Conclusion: An interesting day. Where I had some money left over to be able to buy some things...; as opposed to being left just totally flat broke.

I wish I could learn to 'save' money, instead of 'spend' it. But, especially, when one is relatively poor...; then, it can be awful hard to save up, regularly...when you want things 'now'...; so, you end up spending all the cash you have...then, tomorrow you're totally broke, again...just like before.

Tue WMCollege: GCSE English 'mock' exam test: 6:30-9PM/Signed up for Prepartory Maths Mon 2-4 PM

 Wed 270224 WMCollege: Joined a 'new' Prepatory Maths course: Mon evenings 2-4 PM./Passed GCSE 'mock' exam test: 27/35.

------------------------------------------

-> 16:00 WMCollege: Maths assessment/passed. 'Prepatory Maths' Course to start next week Monday 2 PM-4 PM.

-> 18:30 WMCollege: GCSE English Mock Exam/Passed. 27 out of 35.

-> 21:30 Went for a long traveling journey: Mixture of underground trains/bus. Hammersmith bus/tube station. Brought myself a 'cheap' McDonald's Hamburger: £1.19 Arrived back in Streatham...brought 1 more 'cheap' McDonald's Hamburger: £1.19. Finally, went home.

-> Conclusion: Lot's of worrying to do...; the house is not ok...roof leaking like mad/threatening to go fall down at some point...I just don't know when...???!!! There's no money to go fix it...; so, I have no other choice but to, simply, watch and wait...

------------------------------------------

-> 16:00 WMCollege: Maths assessment/passed. 'Prepatory Maths' Course to start next week Monday 2 PM-4 PM.

I knew, I had to do a maths 'test' at WMCollege...; and, had booked the time to be 4 PM.

Only, as usual, ADD/Attention Deficit Disorder strikes. If I have a 4 PM appointment...and, with 1 hour to travel there. Then, most likely, I will be getting ready to go at 4 PM on the dot...; and, therefore, will leave at least 1/2 an hour 'late'....; with a further 1 hour of travelling still to do on top...so, that makes me more than 1 & 1/2 hours 'late'...!

First thing I did when I arrived in college was to realize that I had forgotten to take along my 'ID name/photo badge' card. However, the college was prepared for that...and, gave me a 'temporary' visitors card to use, instead; because, the receptionists all know my face extremely well by now; as I visit the college all too very regularly.

I believe I went up to Room 401...where I took a Maths assessment. Honestly, I was expecting the test to be computer based...and, long...lasting, at least, 2 hours...; just like it is in other colleges. But, nope, this test was paper based...and, really wasn't a test. There were 2 papers to go fill in.

- Paper 1, said fill in your name/college id number/and, also, state why you are interested in maths/and, what has been your experience before.

- Paper 2, asked a series of questions...can you count change.../-etc. Mark, 1, if it gives you anxiety/2 if anxiety level is less/and, so on...down to 4.

Within minutes, the so called 'test' was all done. And, the guy, Peter, I think his name was...head of the Maths department...said I had passed...; and, I could start Maths course on Mon evenings 2-4 PM.

I came way feeling just totally 'amazed'...after worrying and worrying about it for so long...; thinking that I need to prepare/or else, expect to fail miserably...; well, all of my worrying was for nothing, in reality; as I passed without needing to put in hardly any effort at all.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

-> 18:30 WMCollege: GCSE English Mock Exam/Passed. 27 out of 35.

Initially, I couldn't find which room...; on the notice board there were 2 GCSE courses being listed, Room 401/701; I visited them both with no luck.

Then, I came back down to the receptionist desk...; asked further questions...still not getting anywhere.

-(Then, I remembered there was a college book that I had borrowed; which I could not find...; so, I decided to go upstairs and check out the college Library...; in order to inquire about the missing book. The guy at the Library desk confirmed, no, I did not return it. I asked him how much does the book cost to replace? He answered me, £14.00. So, immediately, I took out my debit card and paid.)-

When I came out fo the library...I went downstairs 1 level...; and, that's where I found the maths 'test' room was: 501...; because I saw my teacher standing up inside there: Tracy Elliot. She told me to 'wait'...along with everybody else...as we were 1/2 an hour too early...to take the English 'mock' exam test.

-(I went downstairs to practice on the college computers for a while. Chatted to some guy...who I noticed had a work of art 'male head/and, shoulders' on his computer screen. He said, he drew it inside of a 'live' portrait class.)-

Then, I went back upstairs...

We entered the room in total silence as instructed by the teacher; and, then, sat the mock exam papers. I'd forgotten to bring along a black biro pen along with me...; and, then, somebody kind borrowed me one.

After 1 hour long...the teacher gathered together all of the 'test' papers...; and, told us to come back in, later on.

When I returned back upstairs...the teacher handed us our 'mock' exam papers...and, the marks she placed on the front said I had passed; which was some huge relief. Because, I had joined in with this GCSE class 'late'...everyone there was already a pupil before me. On the other hand my marks were far from being 'perfect'; instead, I had gotten just 27 out of 35. So, a lot of improvement to do there still.

Anyway, at that point, close to 9 PM I left college.

---------------------------------------------------------------

-> 21:30 Went for a long traveling journey: Mixture of underground trains/bus. Hammersmith bus/tube station. Brought myself a 'cheap' McDonald's Hamburger: £1.19 Arrived back in Streatham...brought 1 more 'cheap' McDonald's Hamburger: £1.19. Finally, went home.

I went out to do a little bit of travelling...; as I didn't wish to go home, immediately, right away.

I got on a Mornington Crescent tube...; then, switched over at Warren Street. But, a message said, for 'emergency' reasons Warren Street tube station was closed...and, everybody must leave.

-(I'm still not too sure what the nature of the Warren Street tube station 'emergency' was...as the announcement wasn't specific...; it just said, everybody must leave.)-

UPDATE(280423)

- https://www.mylondon.news/news/live-warren-street-station-evacuated-15312392

I walked out of Warren Street tube station; then, took a number 27 bus...at a bus stop located just around the corner...which took me all the way to Hammersmith bus/tube station.

After arriving at Hammersmith station...I saw a McDonald's branch...where I brought myself a 'cheap' hamburger costing £1.19.

Then, I hopped on the tube train from Hammersmith...I was very highly surprised to find I had, actually, reached the end of the tube station line.

Anyway, the next stop I got off at was Sloane Square; went around the corner...; and, jumped onto a number 137 bus going off to Streatham.

Got off at the bus stop...2 stops away from Streatham bus garage...; and, inside of Streatham McDonald's I brought myself one more 'cheap' hamburger costing £1.19.

(So, in all, I went and brought 2 hamburgers for, today; enjoyed it, both times. Out there it's 'freezing'...; and, when your stomach is 'empty'...; it's good to fill your stomach up with something both tasty and hot.)

Came out Streatham McDonald's...; and, took a number 147 bus home.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

-> Conclusion: Lot's of worrying to do...; the house is not ok...roof leaking like mad/threatening to go fall down at some point...I just don't know when...???!!! There's no money to go fix it...; so, I have no other choice but to, simply, watch and waitw...

- If I had a job to go to...; then, I would do the job...and, just forget about going off to college...; so, that I can earn money to fix the leaky roof.

- Failing having a job...I choose to go off to college...so, that I can study to earn qualifications in order to get a job...so, that I can fix the leaky roof.

If the roof wasn't very badly leaking...I, most probably, wouldn't have gone to college, in the first place...; much preferring to stay in, and, study on the internet at home. Why bother to go through doing all of that endless commuter traveling both 'to and fro'...; I don't particularly like being on the streets...; especially, not in the 'freezing' cold...?!

Mon 260224 WMCollege: Creative Computing/Shopping: Camden poundland/Norwood Lidl/Fast food: Chicken & Chips

Mon 260224 10 AM-12:30 PM WMCollege, Creative Computing : Adobe Illustrator. Shopping: Camden Town, Poundland. Shopping: Norwood Crown Point, Lidl. 8 x Bread mini-rolls/Packet of Cookham.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Table of contents:-

-> 10 AM-12:30 PM WMCollege, Creative Computing : Adobe Illiustrator

-> 1PM - 4 PM Practicing learning: Adobe Illustrator; too, programming using: Python/C/C++ at: programiz.com

-> 4:30 PM Shopping: Camden Town, Poundland...brought 3 large chocolate bars.

-> 6 PM Shopping: Norwood Crown Point: Lidl. 8 x Bread mini-rolls./Packet of Cookham.

-> 6:30 PM Shopping: Crown Point, brought 4 x chicken pieces, and fries.

-> Conclusion: Love learning/love teaching

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-> 10 AM-12:30 PM WMCollege, Creative Computing : Adobe Illiustrator

Unfortunately, I left home 1/2 an hour ‘late’...at around 9:30 AM; because it takes 1 hour long to reach WMCollege in Mornington Crescent...; therefore, I knew I was going to not make it into the 10 AM lesson on time.

-(This is a huge problem, because if you are a few minutes late...; then, that’s ok; but, if you are over 1/2 an hour late...then, you could be marked down as being ‘absent’ from the lesson...even if you did, actually, arrive.)-

In fact, this was my first lesson of this term class...; although this is the 2nd of 5 classes. (I couldn’t make it to class last week...; because there was a job centre conflict of times...they wanted me to do a 10:00 AM English/Maths course elsewhere. Which, eventually, I was able to resolve...by stating I was already studying at WMCollege.)

The aim of this class was really very simple...open AAdobe Illustrator...and, use the drawing tools...to copy a photo downloaded from the internet. I’d chosen famous London buildings as my theme. I tried copying Henry VIIII’s Hampton Court Castle.

I watched the work that others had done...which was much more effective than were my own, admittedly, ‘inexperienced’ efforts. I wasn’t at all pleased with my own copying. Going to have to practice one hell of a lot more, I guess.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-> 1PM - 4 PM Practicing learning: Adobe Illustrator; too, programming using:
Python/C/C++ at: programiz.com

After the lesson I went downstairs to practice on the college computer...which also have Adobe Illustrator included. However, the YouTube tutorials I choose were much too long...; and, therefore, I let my attention get ‘distracted’.

Most of the time, I actually spent it using the college Mac computers to practice doing some programming using ‘beginner’ level C/C++.

I also found some ‘beginner’ level tutorials to work through, including: Python, C, C++. The web site was called: Programiz.com.

The problem was they only allowed you to work for FREE through something like 12% of the tutorial...before demanding a fee to be paid; and, at that point, I quit...not being willing to pay anything.

-----

NOTE: These tutorials were particularly good/excellent, in fact. As it gave you ‘hands on’ coding experience using the web browser...as well as, ‘example codes’ to go and run.

I should also like to add the tutorial was AI-Artificial Intelligence aided...so, if you ever got stuck; then, you could ask it to ‘test’ your code...and, then, explain exactly what had gone wrong...; this kind of extremely clear explanation made the code very easy to correct.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-> 4:30 PM Shopping: Camden Town, Poundland...brought 3 large chocolate bars.

In Camden Town ‘Poundland’...I brought 3 large bars of chocolate each costing £1.00 each.

- Ate 1 bar on the street whilst waiting for the bus.

- Ate another bar on the bus.

- Took 1 chocolate bar home.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-> 6 PM Shopping: Norwood Crown Point: Lidl. 8 x Bread mini-rolls./Packet of Cookham.

I popped into Norwood Crown Point Lidl supermarket store...where I brought 1 packet of 30 cook ham slices costing £2.49/and, 8 x bread mini-rolls at 0.25p each...costing £2.00.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-> 6:30 PM Shopping: Crown Point, brought 4 x chicken pieces, and fries.
The weather was freezing cold...; and, I decide I wanted something to heat me up...so, I went into a shop -(forgot the name)- where I brought 4 x chicken pieces, and, fries costing £2.99.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-> Conclusion: Love learning/love teaching

Overall, I'm really glad I rejoined going back to study inside of college...even at 60 years old; because, the truth is, deep down inside...I am at heart an 'academic'...meaning, I 'love' to study for hour and hours...indeed, all 'day/night' long.

It makes me feel really good when I 'know' a subject really well; and, it makes me feel really awkward' when I don't fully understand...in fact, it makes me feel just like being a complete 'idot'...if I don't get it...?! For these reasons, I 'love' to learn.
I suppose, my ideal job would be to become a teacher...who can 'share' all that I've gone and learned. But, as they say, nothing in life ever comes really straight forwards, simple, easy. I have to cope with, often, crippling shyness, self-doubts, lack of self-confidence; not being too used to socializing with others...much preferring to keep my own space/-etc. Therefore, I tend to be really awkward when interacting with others, I'm afraid.

Apart from that, I'm most definitely not the punctual type...with ADD/Attention Deficit Disorder...I tend to get everywhere 'late'...; which means, I would hardly ever get there on time...that wouldn't work out too well, at all...?!
However, there is more than 'one' way to teach...you can teach online...; or, using YouTube/or, by building your own teaching web site/-etc. So you don't necessarily need to be there at an exact time...when people can 'sign in' online to go access your content for all of 24 hours/7/366 non stop.

Tue 200224 Completed online 6:30PM-9PM GCSE Lesson using Microsoft Teams software

Table of Contents:-

1.00 -> TALK TALK 'INTERNET/PHONE' THIS MONTH'S BILL STILL REMAINS 'UNPAID': £42.00

2.00 -> DID ONLINE GCSE ENGLISH TEST...USING MY NEW 'CAM/MIKE' EQUIPMENT...TOGETHER WITH: MICROSOFT TEAMS SOFTWARE

3.00 -> WENT OUT...BROUGHT 4 PIECES OF FRIED CHICKEN...COSTING £4.50

4.00 -> MY ORIGINAL PLAN WAS TO GO VISIT LIDL SUPERMARKET/BUT, NO, THE SHOP WAS ALREADY 'CLOSED'

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1.00 -> TALK TALK 'INTERNET/PHONE' THIS MONTH'S BILL STILL REMAINS 'UNPAID': £42.00

I had gone and signed in to TalkTalk web site...

- https://www.talktalk.co.uk

...and, they said I owe them £42.00 outstanding in payment for: home phone/internet.

Unfortunately, my bank's DDR/Direct Debit payment had 'bounced'...; due to insufficient monetary funds being available inside of the a/c.

So, I decided to go over to their web site...just to see what was up...would there be any further additional 'late payment' charges...? As it is, I saw a section there which said I can postpone them taking any more payment until Tue 27th of Feb 2024; so, that was exactly the option I chose.

-----

2.00 -> DID ONLINE GCSE ENGLISH TEST...USING MY NEW 'CAM/MIKE' EQUIPMENT...TOGETHER WITH: MICROSOFT TEAMS SOFTWARE

I've just completed doing an 'online' GCSE English lesson lasting from 6:30PM-9PM with WMCollege teacher: Tracy Elliot: English Functional Skills Level 2

-----

Had to read through 3 different test papers;
and, then, answer some test questions...;

then, finally, hit the [Submit] button.

I honestly am not too sure exactly what my results will be...?
But, it's ok...I managed to do a 'first' online GCSE lesson;

and, that's fantastic.

-----

The 'cheap' £9.99 'cam/mike' equipment I'd brought from off eBay, actually, works inside of Microsoft Teams software; man, that's a big relief...; as before try as I might, I couldn't get it working properly there.

-----

My English GCSE test results said I obtained a score of...

Points: 21/35.

Frankly, that sort of score really doesn't please me too much...; as I would have hoped to have done much better...hoping to get 'all' right.

The teacher herself marked it as:

>>>
a strong response here - well done!
<<<

But, quite obviously, she doesn't know me too well...; I'd prefer my scores to be 100% 'perfect'.

-----

3.00 -> WENT OUT...BROUGHT 4 PIECES OF FRIED CHICKEN...COSTING £4.50

The last thing I did before the night had ended was to go out and buy myself some 4 x chicken pieces...costing £4.50.

The 2 guys serving in the shop...were just about to shut up for the night; I asked them how much chicken have you got left...; they answered me 4 pieces.

When I inquired how much those 4 pieces cost...they said £4.50. Most unfortunately, I'm not a good 'haggler' on price...; otherwise, I would have asked them to let me off paying the extra .50p.; but, I did not.

The 4 chicken  pieces felt really good to eat, though; really quite delicious...; especially, when you feel you haven't had any good fried chicken for a long time.

I eat most of it walking home along the streets. When I did, eventually, arrive back home...; there was no more than  just  1 single piece left.

Perhaps, I should have fed some to the cat...; but, no, I  got really greedy, I'm afraid.

I did, however, go down stairs...and, fed the cat some 'dry' pellet food...; which I poured into a clean plate.

-----

4.00 -> MY ORIGINAL PLAN WAS TO GO VISIT LIDL SUPERMARKET/BUT, NO, THE SHOP WAS ALREADY 'CLOSED'

My original plan to go out...was to buy some £2.00 boxes of chicken from Lidl supermarket at West Norwood Crown Point. But, I greatly underestimated that the body of a 60+ year old...cannot run too fast. I'm pretty sure, I must have left home somewhere near 10:30 PM...which meant I had, at least, 1/2 an hour long to arrive there. However, when I did reach the Lidl front door...; they were already, quite firmly, 'shut'.

That's when I proceeded down the road...to go buy some some 4 chicken pieces, instead.

The truth is, I'm not happy with my own most miserable state of fitness, at the moment; which I judge to be pretty damn poor...; mainly because I've just not been exercising. Instead, I tend to get really lazy in my old age...; and, do just simply give up before I've even gotten started.

But, the older one grows; then, the more one 'needs' to take exercise, regularly; in other words, it's not a choice. You either exercise...or, your  whole entire body goes all the way to hell...with no returning...; and, rather sad to say, this is no joke.
